My wife and I went to Vermont Coin and Jewelry today, conveniently located a block away from the Trader Joe’s in South Burlington, Vermont. I had called Dennis, earlier in the day, to check their hours, which he confirmed are 9:30 - 5 daily. Even though we missed one ferry across Lake Champlain, the next one, minutes later got us to South Hero about twenty minutes later. So, we got to the store about 4:15. Greeted by Dennis and helped by Steve and Martha, the three of them could not have been nicer. They treated us like old friends! They answered all of our questions and helped us with our business there. This business is the real deal. They know their stuff. I have always been treated with respect even while starting out as a coin and antique collector. I feel comfortable spending several hours in the store going thru their junk silver, their culls /slabs and other interesting collectibles.They are thriving in these times because they are open. honest. and available. I have brought other collectors and friends to Vermont Coin and they have had great fun getting to know the "crew". They have a wonderful approach of giving away freebies of numismatic folders and periodicals if they have extras. Ten out of ten for this store. I bought an Ever Us white gold and diamond ring for my fiancé. The ring is beautiful, the price was great, and the staff went over and above the call of duty to help me find the right ring. I'll be there again - for another ring, this week. The prices are astronomically low and it's so refreshing to see beautiful rings instead of the run of the mill mass produced stuff offered by some of the larger jewelry stores. I also like the fact this store has character; personality, and class! I covet their oil painting of Lincoln and remain fascinated by their huge range of coins and antique oddities.
