I brought in the same exact piece of jewelry on 2 separate occasions for an estimate, and was given 2 completely different numbers by 2 completely different staff members-30 days apart.

Why I'd like to give 5 stars: 1 month ago: The first time I came in, I was greeted by a professional with dark hair. She took the time to care, and was able to answer my question after taking a good look and waiting for the refraction. I was provided an estimate that sounded accurate to what my grandmother stated when gifting this item to me- prior to her passing away in January. I took some time to think about if I wanted this family heirloom more than I want to keep my lights on. My grandmother would want me to take care of myself- so, I went back in yesterday to see if this would be worth them purchasing... Why I can't give more than 1 star: August 14- around 11am. I go in, and there's 3 people just sitting down, where you can't physically see them upon walking in (at least if you're 5'4"). At first, I was excited to see a small dog, because that meant a human was nearby. A blonde woman stood up and hardly took a look- didn't try using any identification tools. She was more focused on her puppy. While her puppy chewed on my foot and shoe, she told me to 'sell it on Facebook marketplace for $15-20'. Word of advice- if you're gonna take your puppy mill status breed dog to work, focus on your clients, or put the dog in daycare. Look at my previous reviews- I'm not someone trying to hock an heirloom for a quick $40. The customer isn't always right, but this woman on staff needs to humble herself. I hope she's not inheriting this place to run on her own- she had the attitude as if she's never had a hard day in her life. That's unfortunately my impression I got from her- on a very hard day in my life. I had another piece of jewelry I was hoping to have looked at I had brought along, that I believe would have been of interest, but I had to go buy myself a new pair of sandals. Walking into After Midnight Jewelers I just had a vague idea that I wanted to rework my wedding set. I chatted with a very helpful lady who then booked me an introductory consult appointment with the custom works jeweler, Collette. She introduced me to Collette, and after briefly mentioning what I wanted to do, Collette had time to actually consult me right then and there. They really do actual custom work, and Collette totally got my vision. We played around with settings, diamond shape, gold and more. She was so kind and gracious, and was very patient as we brought my vision to life. It was so gratifying to be treated like a friend and have her input as we redesigned this piece to include gold and stones from my original set. She then promptly emailed me the rough draft graphic designs right as I walked out. I was told the process usually takes about 8 weeks, but I hope it takes less because I’m excited! I opted not to do a wax mold for try-on, to save time and because I’m confident in the design we created and the renderings she shared. They also mentioned they can ship insured if needed too. I am excited to see the finished product come to life! I paid a down payment that seemed reasonable, and since we’re using my own gold/diamonds I will receive a final price when they can weight my raw materials. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and help that I received at After Midnight Jewelers. I stopped in to see if there was any chance that they could affordably salvage an 18 ct gold bracelet, who's clasp had never been secure. They gave me a price that was half of what another local jeweler had quoted. They also had an 18 ct gold clasp that matched the bracelet perfectly. They did the work quickly and polished the bracelet so that it gleamed. They basically took a bracelet that was ready to be thrown away or fall off my wrist and presented me with a piece of artwork. It is gorgeous! I was so pleased that I also had them replace the setting for my engagement ring. They truly appreciate the two pieces of jewelry that they worked on for me and let me trade my broken gold jewelry for part of the work they did. My engagement ring is sparkling and is so beautiful, I feel like I just got engaged. They listened carefully to what I wanted done, and had suggestions that really helped form the final products.
