Cubby's — Restaurant in South Jordan

Cubbys is a high quality specialty sandwich place with really good ingredients and freshness. I think a lot of the combos are great, but the biggest hit on stars in the end is the seasoning. Cubbys gets a good 4.2/5.

My favorite sandwich there is the steak sandwich and comes with great grilled onion and crispy bacon. The roll is soft, the steak is very tender and cooked really well. I like the bbq sauces on the side as it can overpower what's inside at times, I recommend doing the same! But again, salt and pepper is just not there, making the quality meat stand alone instead of bringing out even more flavor. Quick and cheap fix that will push this sandwich past the rest! 👍

I've had the burgers and the steak torta, both again very good and breads are great. Meat just has to have that seasoning. Sauces in the Torta are amazing. Their creamy cilantro salsa is awesome. Get some on the side for any dish.

One of my favorite dishes there is the Mac and Cheese. Great smoked gouda combo, not goopy, but a smooth cheese. I love the breadcrumbs addition, great flavor and texture, I always get extra 👍 They also have Apple Beer, so that is a huge plus!

Prices are so close to being fair. Huckleberry shake is so good, but very pricey for a small size. It is a higher price range than most, but unique dishes and flavors than most restaurants for a chain like Cubbys makes it close. It will be upwards to $20 for one person with a drink. Try to change the seasonings and you'll be up there for steak sandwiches...

Cubbys gets a solid 3. They could be a 5 but let me tell you why they arent. There is no consistency with their food or service. I have ordered the same burger several times. Its arrived in about 10 min and also about 35 min. Its come out one time perfect One time way over cooked and one time way under cooked. No consistency. I want to order my favorite meal here and have it be the same everytime. However that is not the case. I only come here if someone else is bringing me or buying. Still it's not my first choice. The sweet potato fried however are a 5 every time. That is what I wish for all the food. I do however enjoy the breakfast menu over lunch and dinner. The lemon ricotta pancakes were really good. Flavorful. Cooked well, crisp on the outside and had great flavor. My husband got the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were over cooked but they seem homemade and he did enjoy the dish. I've also have the quinoa oatmeal. I also enjoyed that too. I wish I could give a 5 but I cant. And I wish the employees were a little more friendly. Most seem indifferent about you being there to order. And it's a bit more pricey so I would really expect more (chick fil a) type service. Their employees are trained well. I'm sure I'll come back but I do hope they improve consistency of cooking their food. =] Burgers I've had. Dragonslayer Houdini. Both have been unconsistent. Wednesday night my wife and I visited this Cubby's location. At the time of our visit there were easily more employees working than there were customers. We placed our order and sat down and waited. 3-4 customers followed us. I ordered a burger and my wife ordered a salad. After waiting 10 minutes, the two customers who ordered after us were given their food, both burgers - one a double. After being there 15 minutes the third customer behind us was called up to get his burger so I inquired as to when ours would be ready. I was told that they were waiting for the burger - which surprised me because 3 orders for burgers were provided before mine. I then simply asked for a refund so we could get on our way. Employees started yelling "Free Food". I said I don't want free food, I just wanted a refund. Two more minutes passed and I was finally given my order. We drove to another location to eat and when I opened my burger there was an enormous amount of white gooey sauce leaking out all over the bun. There was easily 1/2 cup of this sauce - so much so that I couldn't even find the patty. Needless to say I didn't eat this disgusting burger. I've never had an issue at any other Cubby's location. This location in South Jordan is the worst. As a side note, my wife got the Tri-Tip Salad and most of the meat was nothing but gristle and the tomatoes were...
