My husband and I have been here a couple times recently. We stopped coming to this location simply because of all the crappy experiences we've had here. Well, its been some years, so we decided to try again. The first time, my husband and I both got the fiesta lime chicken. The rice wasn't fresh at all! It was old, cold, and soggy! The chicken was literal rubber! I ordered chips and queso, and the queso was BARELY warm! We didn't even get to finish our meal. We left pretty disappointed. We decided to give another try this past Saturday since we were out and kind of hungry for it. We walked through the parking lot wondering if we would get a table, because the parking lot was pretty full.. but upon entering the building, we could see empty tables EVERYwhere.. like.. the whole one half of the restaurant was EMPTY! We were told by some young boy at the host stand, that "it will be a 10 minute wait or so.. is that okay?" My husband and I both spoke up and said something as to why we have to wait with all these empty tables.. "We don't want to over load the kitchen.." he said. I instantly got upset! We gave them five minutes. Theres absolutely NO reason why they should be making us wait at all with all the empty space. More and more people kept walking in, a whole group of people that came in AFTER us got seated.. all while we were told we had to wait. Even more people are piling in when our name is called. I looked at the host and said.. "how do you feel about over loading the kitchen now?" as I passed him. He needs to NOT tell people that!!! Regardless, we sat down and had a really nice waiter. We ordered. So while we're waiting for our drinks, that boy from the hostess stand made it a point to come ALL the way across the resturant just to tell me.. "just to let you know, i dont make those choices".. I yelled back at him, "yep, sure looks like that bro". He was butthurt by my comment and felt the need to elaborate on that to us. He kept coming over to the tables next to us and giving us dirty looks while we waited for our food. I got the fiesta lime chicken again, my husband got the chicken tender plate. Once again, my rice was totally disgusting.. it was crunchy, not even cooked all the way! My husband tried it and spit it right out! As well as the chicken.. It was like trying to eat RUBBER! My husbands tenders were a bit over cooked as well. So.. that was the SECOND time in ONE WEEK we tried to eat here, and couldn't even finish our meals they were that bad! We won't...

We wanted to bring our experience to someone's attention.
We went to lunch at the Applebee's on Peach Street today. It was me and my wife, with our 7 year old son. We asked for a kids menu for our son.
When the waitress, Katy, took our drink order, she asked if we would prefer to have our son's drink in a kids cup or a big cup. We said he's ok to have a big cup. Our assumption was that would save her on refills, since she didn't refill our drinks at all.
Our son ordered the chicken quesidilla kids meal, which includes a drink.
When I looked at the bill, I let Katy know we were charged for our son's drink. She said it was because it was in the big cup, and I explained that he ordered from the kids menu and she offered which size of cup to give him.
She went to the manager, Adam, and he came to the table to explain that he's not removing the charge because he has a big cup. I explained again that is what Katy offered.
We paid for the drink, but are very frustrated with how that was handled. I can only imagine how many other familes are being charged for the kids drinks because the waitress offers to serve in a big cup to eliminate how many times they have to do refills.
And unfortunately, it was being discussed loudly, which was very embarrassing for us, which is the other reason we said we will just pay for it.
This shouldn't be offered, especially if you see the children have kids meals.
Sadly, it's not about the $3.29 that was charged, but completely on how it was handled. Katy was very apologetic on making the error and explained that she told them it was her mistake, but Adam refused to take the charge off.
Again, this is just to bring it to someone's attention since it was very frustrating and embarrassing. We even chose to walk out through the takeout door since everyone was staring at us...

But my experience coming in Applebee's guide me away from ever going there. I will keep going back to Applebee's because they have very good food and very good employee if I was younger I would love to work there and of course pain-free but I like to experience so much I'm going down to see my mother for her 101 birthday and yes I will be taking her to Applebee's well I hope I will be hearing from the manager and I just remember we were in Applebee's of Pennsylvania just before closing time and we had two salads and two steak dinners if this would help narrow things down for the management if I get a response then I will try to contact the restaurants thank you...
