A Fantastic Dining Experience at Shakey’s
I recently visited Shakey’s and was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience. Let me break it down:
Food Quality: The food was delicious for the most part, and what stood out to me was how customizable the flavors were. The dishes are lightly seasoned, allowing guests to add their preferred sauces, salt, pepper, cheese, or pepper flakes to suit their tastes. For those who enjoy tailoring their meals, this is a major plus.
The salad bar was especially impressive, considering I visited near closing time. Everything was fresh, crisp, and well-stocked. It’s not often you find a buffet that maintains such freshness late into the evening.
The variety of food options was another highlight. I visited on a Sunday, and in addition to their famous pizza, they offered mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, corn, spaghetti sauce, and more. There’s truly something for everyone, making it a great spot for diverse palates.
Atmosphere: The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing—one of the best I’ve experienced for a buffet. Unlike some chaotic buffets, Shakey’s offers a calm and welcoming environment without overwhelming noise or the feeling of being judged. It made for a pleasant, laid-back dining experience.
Service: The employees were phenomenal. They were friendly, attentive, and eager to ensure every guest had an enjoyable experience. One staff member even offered to adjust or remake a dish to better suit my preferences, which really shows their commitment to customer satisfaction.
I also had the pleasure of meeting the general manager, Dawna. She went above and beyond to interact with customers, gather feedback, and make everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her leadership clearly shines through in the way the staff operates.
Cleanliness: The restaurant was spotless, including the bathrooms, which were impressively clean and well-maintained—a crucial but often overlooked aspect of dining out.
Family-Friendly Features: A standout feature for families is the arcade. It’s a perfect space for kids to play and burn off some energy while parents relax and enjoy their meal. It’s a thoughtful addition that sets Shakey’s apart from other buffet-style restaurants.
Final Thoughts: Overall, my experience at Shakey’s was fantastic. The combination of fresh, customizable food, a relaxing atmosphere, friendly and accommodating staff, and family-friendly amenities like the arcade make this a standout dining spot. I highly recommend Shakey’s for anyone looking for a satisfying and enjoyable...
Read morethis place is over priced and over rated. my husband and I visited the location in temecula. it appears to be a sports bar with a few ticket games that can be cashed in for prizes. its Monday night at 8pm. the place is deader than a doorknob. there was a employee at a table eating. and us. a gentleman came in right after us, he ordered to go. no one came in the entire time we were there. I am willing to bet it might have something to do with melinda, the manager. melinda wasn't around when we ordered 2 all you can eat saladbars and a 9 inch rustic garlic chicken pizza and a 18 piece wings totaling$57.35. but when I ask for a plate for the salad bar melinda replied with it's for 1 person only, the person who did take our order replied with we had paid for 2 all you can eat saladbars, our wings had no sauce on them. what was supposed to be honey bbq sauce was just bbq sauce. there buffalo sauce was Tabasco based and tastes just like chuck cheese. I would recommend McDonald's before this place. someone might want to teach or explain to melinda that accusing the few customers you were lucky enough to get in the door of wrong doing may not be the best practice when she has no knowledge of...
Read moreWe came in for lunch on a Sunday expecting to order a pizza and mojo's and discovered the lunch buffet operating. Surprise! Shakey's Pizza never changes, except to add new topping choices! Haven't eaten at one of these places in about 7 years and the pizza flavor is just as it was then and as a kid. The mojo's aren't what they used to be: now they are purchased frozen instead of made by hand onsite. Chicken was cooked well and not dried out. That said, they need to kick it up a notch and learn to anticipate what is needed out front, for there is no excuse to let a salad bar or hot bar run dry. I have worked pizza buffet bars and it really isn't that hard to keep up: you dedicate a few employees to it and that is all they do. Pizza gets down to half start cooking more. Same for salad bar: keep it stocked. Also, could have been cleaned better. Looks like a midnight cleaning party is in order, tables and condiment containers need cleaning. Floors and windows were fine. Lots of plates for refills but silverware was down to 5 utensils. Very attentive staff so I am left wondering...do they know to clean and stock as they go or were they...
