Sweetgreen is a national chain serving "healthy" and fresh salads and bowls from local-ish farmers, with maybe too much sodium for some. I've been frequenting Sweetgreens since 2016, so I was excited when they opened a location in The Woodlands. True to form, the ingredients are fresh, high-quality, and made to order. The price is on the high end, but unlike other options, when you customize your salad, they adjust costs appropriately (including removing fees), making it a shop where you can customize it and still get a reasonable value. If sodium-sensitive, be aware that considerable flavor is derived from its elevated use; however, they have low sodium options that you can swap for little or no cost (such as Roasted Chicken). They are also vegetarian and vegan-friendly. Locations will offer free water and trendy non-Coke and Pepsi drinks. This self-described "socially responsible" company strives to be carbon neutral, and to-go packaging will be compostable. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but I find both uncomfortable for different reasons (watch your knees on those indoor benches). The staff is friendly, but a relaxed environment and possible understaffing for lunch lead to long and slow lines at lunchtime. They offer a mobile app, which has its own problems, but it will save you a lot of time waiting in line even if you're going to eat in-store. I'll continue to be a regular.

This place is my FAVORITE, my bf and I crave it every week, and they have a lot of deals and coupons on their app that help. 10/10 recommend their miso sauce on top I could literally drink it straight. This place also got me into quinoa and kale which I never knew I liked so definitely try new things there if you can. Everyone is super nice and helpful if I don't know what to choose and I appreciate that they’re biodegradable and have free water for broke college students like myself lol. It’s also so aesthetically decorated in there, I can’t order to go because I want to sit in there and enjoy the atmosphere. Lastly I got their sweatshirt and merch tee and even tho it was kind of pricey SO worth it like I wear my sweatshirt 24/7 so go check out their merch as well!! I live in the montgomery area and drive to market street everytime bc its THAT GOOD. Just go try it they have vegatarian options for me as well so just love love love this place

Good portions for a tasty meal! Hearty, filling, tasty, and fresh. It's a great option for a casual meal, especially if you appreciate eating clean & healthy. We enjoyed our no-guilt steak bowls with organic tea & lemonade to drink. We stopped in on a busy Sunday afternoon. At 2pm, there were still many people in line, but the crowd moved fast. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating. It's bright and welcoming, with lots of sunlight pouring through the windows and a clean aesthetic. Robert greeted us and prepared our meals. He was super friendly, well versed with the menu, and made our bowls picture-perfect. Exemplary service & attention to quality! Enjoyed everything every much and will absolutely be back again.

**Update: Sweetgreen corporate did give me a full refund, so thank you Sweetgreen corporate for that.

The service was completely terrible and unacceptable. I grew up in the restaurant industry and never have I been met with this level of unprofessionalism. My order was supposed to be ready 5:10 PM my husband waited 40-50 minutes only to be continuously told they were waiting on quinoa. My husband left, I arrived at 6:10 and asked to speak to a manager due to the unacceptable customer service. I spoke with Alyssa (blonde hair, black glasses) and was met with an unprofessional attitude and immediately told it was essentially our fault and not theirs because there is nothing they can do if they are out of food. I explained to Alyssa that I placed my order at 4:40 for pick up 5:10 and that it doesn’t take an hour to make quinoa, and she replied that “there is nothing we can do if we run out of quinoa on the line and we have customers in line to order food”. Also, keep in mind that when my husband originally arrived he said there was a handful of people there but they weren’t busy. I then reasoned with her and said “I understand that people coming in need to be served as well but why was my order that I placed over an hour ago not prioritized when you’re giving your walk ins the same food items I ordered.” She continuously said it was not their fault and rolled her eyes and I replied that the attitude was unnecessary and that I was looking for an apology rather than blame shifting considering it was 1:30 after I placed my initial order at this point. More over, in addition to my husband leaving the house and driving there to pick up the food, I then had to leave the house to pick up the food because my toddler fell asleep while waiting 40-50 minutes for our online order. It should not have required a second person going to pick up the food nor should I have been greeted with it being my fault considering that they had well over an hour to make the quinoa and put the order together.

When I went to the store it was a bit busier, but there were about 6-7 employees and only three were on the line making actual orders. Overall, the reasoning of prioritizing walk-ins over orders is not sufficient to take 1:30 to make our order especially when I placed my order well before prime...

If you want an extremely upset stomach, eat here. I ate from this Market Street location and ordered something different all 3 separate times I visited/ordered from here that upset my stomach. Last night was the final straw. I was in some of the worst stomach pain of my life and it went on from 6:30pm to 2:30 am. I ate around 6pm. The first two times I really thought, maybe it was just what I chose that just didn't sit well with me? But, I'm not known to have any food sensitivities of any kind because I will make the same types of food at home and be perfectly fine.

My stomach pains those first two times weren't as bad but they still hurt. I forgave it and decided to just try again something I'm used to having there that doesn't normally upset my stomach. After having three different menu items and it resulting in me being in pain, it's clear they're not following food handling procedures properly. Goodness, especially after seeing bugs in another negative review here! Makes me want to throw up.

I am never, ever again eating at sweetgreen - none of them. Actually, this experience made me lose all faith in the food service industry and we are at a final turning point of only eating at home.

For context about what I ate: the first time I had the Caramelized Garlic Steak bowl. The second time I actually can't remember which dish I had but I still had an upset stomach after. The third time, last night, I had the Miso Glazed Salmon and that was the absolutely worst. I had diarrhea, tons of gas so I was burping and farting all night. I lost so much sleep from the pain. I did not stop using the toilet seriously until 2:30 am until I could FINALLY fall asleep. This happened IMMEDIATELY after I ate sweetgreen so I know it was 100% sweetgreen's fault. Such a waste of money!!! Never again.

UPDATE: What is going on here?

This place used to be one of my go-to spots. Sure, there were a couple of very rude employees early on, but it seemed like management handled it—new staff came in, and the food quality noticeably improved. I was excited!

But lately… it’s starting to feel like we’re backsliding. The blackened chicken? It’s been looking questionably raw, and when I order double chicken, I’m getting what looks like half a scoop.

Look—I don’t mind paying more at Sweetgreen. I expect to pay more here because it’s supposed to be quality. But if I’m paying premium prices, the food needs to be consistent.

Leaving this review out of love. I genuinely like Sweetgreen. But please—tighten things back up. We want to root for you. Just make it make sense again.

PREVIOUS REVIEW (2024): I had a wonderful first experience at Sweetgreen last week! Despite asking numerous questions, the staff was incredibly informative and helped me create a customized bowl that perfectly suited my needs. The restaurant's cleanliness made dining in a pleasant experience.

While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, Sweetgreen undoubtedly offers the cleanest and healthiest choice compared to Cava and Salata. The quality of the ingredients was exceptional, and I truly enjoyed every bite of my delicious and worth-it salad.

I hope Sweetgreen maintains its top-notch standards because I am looking forward to enjoying more of their food...
