This is not authentic Mexican cuisine from all my travels of having authentic Mexican food, so if you’re expecting the “Authentic” flavors of real Mexican food, you may have the same experience as I had, and you may be disappointed. HOWEVER… if you don’t particularly care too much about the same details as I do, then you may not care or notice.
They made my chicken burrito with flavorless tasteless mushy soggy mashed chicken. If this was an attempt at “pulled chicken” then it was a bad attempt. It had no flavor and no texture. It did not have the layers of flavors, and it was prepared by a kid who seemed to be working a summer job. The burrito had PARBOILED rice which was undercooked and a bit crunchy.
For crying out loud they didn’t even have Oaxaca cheese, they used a British cheese in the burrito. There was obviously no quality control on the day I went here. Perhaps another day would have been better.
Such a shame. To walk into a place labeled Mexican food, just to have a huge disappointment in my...
Read moreThis place was an amazing choice for a Saturday lunch! We are locals who occasionally come up to the village, and it was great to see a new place offering fresh ingredients and great food.
We tried the Brisket Tacos and Brisket Quesadilla. The quesadilla came with a side of seasoned sour cream and what tasted like homemade salsa. Brisket was everything I had hoped for, tender and perfectly seasoned. It will be hard to try another protein next time. Total of $33 for 3 tacos, 1 quesadilla (4 large pieces), and 1 drink. Pretty awesome for such great tasting, fresh food.
2 veggie options - sweet potato (which I would try) and a veggie chorizo (not my thing), plus several meat choices (note that the chicken is thigh meat). Service was cheerful, the atmosphere was busy but pleasant, and the food was amazing! Highly recommend taking a drive up to see the lake and have a...
Read moreMy wife stopped in for Pork Chorizo and Guac with chips. She loves Guac and with the reviews was excited to get some. First, The Chorizo. We had a short 5 minute drive and the tortilla was very soggy. It would have been better if the meat was in a container and the tortilla separate to be filled when she sat down. I know that is not typical but maybe something to offer customers that aren't eating immediately. That said the meat was one of the best she ever had and ended up eating it on the chips. Very spicy but great. The chips were plentiful and nice and crunchy. The very disappointing thing was the Guac. The good is that it was in fact very fresh avocado but that was it. There was nothing else in it to make it Guacamole. Unless it's different in Upstate NY this is NOT Guacamole. For the cost this was very...
