TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I am Veteran of both the U S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army and have Honorable Disharges from each and as a young man deployed to Beirut, Lebanon during the civil war there and served the United States with honor. I am also a retired corporate lawyer and a practicing Christian. I am 62 years of age and always carry myself as a gentleman and treat others kindly and with respect. I have never been treated so poorly and disrespectfully as I was at Fire and Ice. My wife and I vacationed in Lake George last Fall. One evening my wife and I ventured out from the hotel for a drink and bite to eat. We landed at Fire and Ice. From the outside porch we observed several people inside drinking and socializing. The lights and music were blaring. The place was clearly open. We proceeded to attempt to enter and a very rude worker exageratedly blocked our entry saying the place was closing. We of course turned around and went to another establishment for perhaps an hour or so. Thereafter on our way back to our hotel we walked past Fire and Ice and again observed it to clearly be open and in fact more people were inside. We again attempted to enter and were again blocked. I happen to be Black and my wife happens to be White. In various reviews we have noted other instances of bigotry at Fire and Ice. Shame, shame, shame. This is nefarious, scurilous and un- American conduct. The owners should be ashamed to operate in such a manner. In fairness, the owner may not be aware that there is a rogue employee operating in this manner. I rather think owners - especially in such a popular tourist town - prefer to operate decent friendly establishments and to treat all decent customers with respect. So to the owner of Fire and Ice I apologize for being compelled to write this review. I really didn't want to. But please be aware that you have s bad rogue employee manifesting this type of behavior. She is a White female, 24 to 34 years of age, approximately 5'3" to 5'5" in height, approximately 120 to 135 pounds and brunette. She was rude and obnoxious. The experience so unnerved my wife and I that we said would never visit Lake George again. But we decided to give it another try and had a great time there over Thanksgiving and adored the Xmas tree lighting and parade and very much enjoyed spending Memorial Day weekend there and the week before as well. Sir, I encourage you to look into this and take action as you may see fit. Respectfully, J...
Read moreWe were on a girls trip and decided to having a few drinks and dinner at Fire and Ice Bar & Grill. We should have known right from the start it wasn't going to be a good experience. We had to ask twice for menus. It took a long time for the waitress to finally come over and take our order. We got our drinks fairly reasonable. BUT our dinners were a different story. After about a hour and half...that's right hour and half still no dinners. The waitress finally came over and yo apologize for it taking so long, she said that she forgot to put our order in!!! WTH. So I asked her when did she put the order in, she said 10 minutes ago, which I don't believe because it took another 40 minutes to get our food. Everyone one else that came to the restaurant had their food and had left, most before we even received our food. We were so hungry by this point. Its not like we were sitting out of her site, we were right by the door and she had to walk past us each and every time she came in AND out the door. It never dawned on her like I wonder where their order is. We ordered another round of shots, and she made us believe that they were on her, Nope, wrong! Finally received our meals, which were delicious. One of the girls wanted to order another dinner since it was so good but she told the waitress she didn't want to wait another 2 hours to receive it. Received our bill, the seco d round of shots were on there. No discount, no nothing!!! We thought this was terrible. Our bill came to $155.00 and nothing to compensate our 2 hour wait. I did tell the waitress that even thoufjy she apologized we didn't think it was sincere and that there was something that should have been done. We wanted to walk the streets and shop at Lake George, not sit for most of the time waiting for our food. We frequently travel to the Lake George, already planning our next trip, but I can tell you this is not one of the places that we will be visiting. We will take our $155 plus the $20 tip and spend it at another establishment!!! You lost 4 customers. Its so sad that your establishment doesn't care about the customers and their experience at your restaurant. A big fat shame on you!! Highly...
Read moreMy family and I recently visited Lake George and spent almost a week there. We usually try to go to the same local places every year to eat. We have always gone here to eat but this time was just plain awful. We waited over an hour for two cheeseburgers, a chicken wrap and a caesar salad. We asked if there was a wifi password so the kids can play games on their electronics while we waited and the owner said no he doesn't give it out and just walked away. When the food finally did come, we were missing items but we said we really didnt want to wait any longer for them. My husband took a bite out of his burger and said it tasted funny. He took the top bun off and the lettuce was all brown. When i started eating and moving the lettuce around in my salad I found that towards the middle, alot of the the lettuce was all very dark and slimey. The waiter was very aplogetic and actually took the items off of our bill. I dont believe there wasn't any way a cook wouldn't notice that ? We ended up grabbing a couple of slices of pizza somewhere else afterwards. Plus what made it awful too was there was a guy playing guitar and singing outside live. I think he was intoxicated and he was only singing less than a minute of every song. Will definitely skip this...
