The Greeks ADK — Restaurant in Town of North Elba

I had high expectations for Greek ADK, especially given its impressive 4.9-star rating and glowing reviews. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed by the takeaway experience.

I ordered a falafel platter with lemon potatoes and a Greek salad. The falafel portion was generous (5 pieces), which I appreciated although a bit too salty to my taste. However, I was surprised to receive only half a lemon potato—especially after seeing other diners in the restaurant enjoying full portions of rice with their meals. It felt like the takeaway option was scaled back in an odd way.

The biggest letdown was the Greek salad. As someone who loves Greek salads, I was really looking forward to it—but this one was mostly lettuce, with just a few tomato and cucumber slices, some red onion, and a single olive. The dressing was bland and didn’t help elevate the dish.

With such a high rating, I was expecting more in terms of quality, freshness, and authenticity. It may be a different experience when dining in, but based on my takeaway order, I left...

Wow! What a freakin gem in Lake Placid! My great Grandparents came to the US from Greece, so I know how important food and hospitality is to our culture. The Greeks ADK gave a wonderful representation of that. For starters the Gyro was outstanding, everything is made fresh and worth the few minutes that it takes to have it made that way. I also had the falafel which was crispy and cooked perfectly. I took the Tzatziki appetizer home for lunch the next day and it was so good, even after 24 hours. Oh and baklava cheesecake- stop it… so good! Ok now to the people, the woman at the front was so nice! (I believe the owner.) She seemed to know everyone that came in, I’m not surprised they have many repeat customers. The chef came out at one point and was chatting with other folks in Greek! It made the place feel so authentic. My biggest regret is not coming in sooner. Also, the prices are super affordable- they could definitely charge more in NY. I live locally ,my husband and I took our two dogs for a walk to get lunch -takeout. I went inside while my husband sat outside with our dogs. I ordered and paid along with tip ahead of time. Ordered two lamb wraps and one spinach pie. After I ordered and paid along, a family of five came in and placed a lengthy order. They sat inside to eat. Their entire order came out in ten minutes. They ordered additional food and that also came out . I was still waiting. Another couple came in and sat down and ordered and they were served. A person sitting at the bar area ordered another cup of soup and she was served. I asked the woman behind the counter if my food was coming ?and she said “in a few minutes.” I waited thirty five minutes and finally received my food. It was very good and fresh. The owner should tell customers that the “to go orders” are made last and the people dining in -come first. If I had known ,I would have left and come back to...
