The products are good, the sales team are excellent, and for the most part the installers are very good. There's one problem with Wilson's and that problem is the owner. We have been customer's for yrs, that is until this August and we will not be returning. We purchased a new washer from them and when the installers came to put it in, one young man with a ponytail was very nice and as we were having a conversation with him while he worked, we noticed the other young man who had come with him had disappeared. Initially my husband and I thought maybe he had gone back out to the truck. Which seemed odd that one young man was doing all the work, so we investigated further. My husband went outside and found no sign of the other man? He returned and shook his head no of course this seemed very odd, we thought maybe he had found the restroom without asking and even though a little rude when nature calls right? Not so much we realized he would have had to go through our home to find one of the bathrooms. As we began looking for him we saw him exiting our den and entering our BEDROOM! By the time we made it to our bedroom he was actually already GOING THROUGH ONE OF OUR CLOSETS! As I'm sure you understand we didn't know what to think!? My husband exclaimed what in hell do you think your doing? By this point the very pleasant young man had finished installing our new washer ALONE and had come where we were in our bedroom he had heard my husband yell. The only way we came about knowing this man's name is because the installer who had done all the work alone and said AJ we have discussed this and you CANNOT go through people's homes! He then apologized to us for this other man who literally just stood there looking at us!? We were very upset and still wonder was this man casing our home? Looking for something of value to steal then? Or was there something wrong with him and he was just possibly off? We asked the other young man his name, and he introduced himself as Tristan and apologized about 10 times for his coworker. We asked him if we should be worried about this AJ and his response was no he was harmless but a little off, and just plain liked looking at people's nice homes. We tipped this Tristan heavily with the stipulation he did NOT give any to the other man. We called to complain, and the owner never bothered to even call back! This is is definitely not acceptable behavior and we will not return in...
Read moreSo far my experience with the Lake Plaicd service advisors, specifically Tim, has been dreadful to work with. (Service tech Mark is wonderful and has been wonderful). I have been playing phone tag between them and Whirlpool to look at new issues on a very broken unit. I have been courteous, polite to them, dispite them telling me false information, like my unit is out of warentee despite being only 5 months old. My main complaint is that Tim incorrectly (no muting on their end) put me on hold, and I heard them discussing how annoying we we're, how entitled we seemed, and overall badmouthing us for an hour, all while we were waiting on hold. We have only called about 5 times for our washer, simply to check on a part and to schedule service. I waited patiently for a part for over a month before checking on it. Now this washer is having so many issues its completly malfunctioning, I have been working with Whirlpool, and have come to the conclusion that there's a lot of miscommunication, because I thought I was following the correct route to try to resolve my issues. However, the lack of care and snobbery that we have experienced for simple lack of understanding due to the miscommunication is appauling. When we explained this to the service advisors that there were new issues and Whirlpool had sent in new work orders, they refused to come out for service or to verify there were new issues until the door gets there. Whenever we call, just trying to smooth out the communication, we are greeted with hostility.
EDIT: April 28, 2019. I did receive a call from Wilson's after posting my review, a tech was able to come out this afternoon and confirmed that the washer is indeed very, very broken, and the part on order will not fix it. I am now able to move forward with complains directly to Whirlpool. I appreciate Wilson's communication, the techs' kindness and understanding of the situation, and the overall correction of this miscommunication. I will be leaving my stars lower, because I certainly hope that Tim doesn't vent about all his customers this badly. It was very discouraging to hear exactly what he though about us,...
Read moreWe bought a dishwasher (Frigidaire) from Wilson’s appliance. While it was still on warrranty -fluid from the interior leaked over the door and burnt the trim of the counter above it. -the gasket had to be replaced shortly after we bought it. -the slider that holds the tray for glasses kept falling out of the groove and broke two glasses. The slider had to be replaced. the dishwasher started making a grinding sound during the drying cycle and had to be turned off
A serviceman came to our house twice to deal with these problems. He proved to be rather rude, even complaining that there were two glasses in the dishwasher when he started to service it.
We called the service manager when it started making grinding noise and asked for a replacement as this product was clearly faulty. She said they don’t replace faulty products. She also said that she was not obliged to service the dishwasher even though it was still under warranty and told us to call the manufacturer as she felt offended by our complaints. She told us it was our fault for buying a cheaper dish-washer and that Wilson’s Appliances does not stand behind its products. They only distribute the products, according to her and if there is a problem it is the fault of the manufacturer and we had to take it up with them. She refused to send a repairman to address the problem.
Previously we bought a refrigerator from Wilson Appliance (Plattsburgh and Lake Placid, NY). A salesman came to measure the space for the refrigerator, brought one which did not fit, and subsequently sent us one which did fit. Unfortunately the drawers subsequently cracked and chipped and can no longer slide into the groove that they are supposed to fit into. In addition the tempered glass plate below the drawer shattered as a result of placing a bottle of milk on it.
Here is the bottom line - Wilsons does not stand behind the shoddy products it sells. The service people are rude when they come to your house and the company refuses to service them when under warranty. Take your appliance business elsewhere if you want decent products...
