A disappointment. Currently on our 7th day of our 8-night stay at the Hyatt Centric Park City, and we've had breakfast every morning and dinner three times here. Therefore, we are more than qualified to review this place. The only reason we stuck to EPC for breakfast was our Hyatt Globalist benefit. Thank god there were much better dining options nearby for dinner including Kuchu Shabu and the restaurants at the Pendry Hotel (Kita and Dos Olas). Leaving the hotel for nearby restaurants would be worth it even in a blizzard. We didn't even consider having lunch here.
Service is consistently slow. In particular, service at breakfast is a disaster. Every morning, we arrive before 7:30 am and it's not crowded at all but it takes at least 15 minutes for a server to just come with water and take our order. Frustration accumulates as we wait for simple things like coffee and check. Most servers don't know what tea (bags) they have beyond "black tea" and "green tea" and don't care to go confirm options. The over-priced Christmas dinner was a blessing in that we could help ourselves with the self-service buffet, at least for the food...
Food is mediocre. Their so-called "ramen" is nothing like a ramen and regardless of how the dish is called, does not taste good. Quite a few items including burgers, soup and omelets were too salty. Kitchen is apparently not properly stocked - no blueberries in the berry bowl and fruit plate for two consecutive mornings; no French fries at one dinner. Cooking/presentation is inconsistent - three sausages one day, four sausages on another; chocolate pancake with melty chocolate chips on top one day, then plain pancake served no-longer-warm with chocolate chips in a separate small cup.
And the list of our complaints goes on... Obviously, we will not return to this place for any lunch/dinner for the remainder...
Read moreWe stayed at hotel four nights and dined here every night for dinner and breakfast since I get free breakfast as Hyatt Globalist and the two other rooms we had were guests of honor so they got free breakfast. There was six of us total so we have a very good idea of the food here. I give the place overall 4 stars as the food is good, but not great and the menu could be better with more higher end selections and flavor of a Category 8 hotel. The folks serving us where all amazing from the friendly face at breakfast each morning to the same friendly place at dinner each night. My lady did think it took longer to serve us some nights but there was 6 of us except the last night and she says I'm the impatient one. The place has indoor seating and outdoor seating with a nice patio that we explored but never dined. There are lots of different drinks on the menu also. As mentioned in my hotel review, we pretty much had every dis on the menu. The first night, I had the half chicken and the breast meat was a bit dry so I gave it to my kid and she put it in her ramen. I also had the Waygu beef (it's American Waygu unfortunately so not as good as Japanese or Austrailian), it was bit overcooked but not to the point to send it back. Night three, I had the scallops and pasta which was clearly the best item on the menu and night four, I had the Ramen which was a nice try but needed some hot sauce (which I got) but I was mid as the kids say. Each morning, we had breakfast and the only thing I can complain about is the pork belly which didn't see to have much flavor and was dry at times. The lady from Romania (sorry, I forget her name) was there each morning and she was really nice and gave us great service each day...she was awesome. Not sure how to judge atmosphere each night and breakfast was pretty quiet...
Read moreNot impressed. We read reviews that were subpar, but since it was raining, we decided to give them a try anyway. Sadly, I have to agree with the majority of the poor reviews here. We waited to be seated for a while. We finally had to go get the front desk person to find someone to seat us. Weird, because the restaurant was essentially empty except for one couple sitting at the bar (yet there were 3 staff all standing behind the bar just talking to that one couple). We ordered corn chowder and the double smash burger with sweet potato fries. The chowder was a bit watery and there were lots of corn silks in the soup that we had to pick out. The smash burger was terrible. One of the 2 pattie’s was absolutely raw. The waitress even was disappointed when she saw that it was that raw. We had also asked for avocado to be added to the burger ($4 up charge) but there was no avocado on the plate at all. The waitress was kind enough to adjust our bill as an apology for the bad experience. It is just a shame that this restaurant cannot seem to get its act together (based on the many reviews with similar...
