Beware of Red Robin (Branded under Fresh Set): A Disturbing Encounter with contaminated food
I recently had a rather shocking and unpleasant experience at Red Robin (who operates Fresh Set) that I feel compelled to share with the online community. In what should have been a simple and enjoyable meal, I was confronted with a revolting situation that not only ruined my appetite but also raised serious concerns about the hygiene practices at this establishment. Brace yourself as I recount my encounter with multiple flies escaping from my salad, shedding light on the potential health hazards and unsanitary conditions that plagued my experience.
Upon receiving my order from Red Robin, I eagerly opened the salad container, only to be greeted by an army of flies that had been inadvertently trapped inside. It was a truly horrifying sight that instantly turned my excitement into disgust. Flies are not only unappetizing but also carriers of various diseases and pathogens. It is well-known that these pests can transmit illnesses such as:
Salmonellosis: Flies can pick up salmonella bacteria from unsanitary surfaces, including garbage cans and animal feces, and transfer them to our food. This can lead to symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever.
E. coli infection: Another dangerous pathogen that flies can spread is Escherichia coli. This bacterium can cause severe gastrointestinal issues, including cramps, bloody diarrhea, and even kidney failure.
Typhoid fever: Flies can be carriers of the Salmonella typhi bacteria, which causes typhoid fever. This serious illness leads to high fever, headache, stomach pain, and can be life-threatening if left untreated.
These examples illustrate the gravity of the situation and highlight the potential health risks associated with consuming food contaminated by flies. It is absolutely essential for restaurants to maintain stringent hygiene practices to prevent such incidents from occurring.
Unfortunately, it appears that Red Robin fell short in upholding these standards. The presence of multiple flies trapped inside my salad suggests unsanitary kitchen conditions, raising questions about the overall cleanliness and food handling practices at this establishment. It is disheartening to think that this incident may not be an isolated case, and there could be underlying issues that compromise food safety.
Based on my experience at Red Robin, I strongly caution others against dining at this establishment. The distressing encounter with flies in my salad, along with the potential health risks they pose, is indicative of unsanitary kitchen conditions that cannot be ignored. It is essential for restaurants to prioritize cleanliness and adhere to rigorous food safety protocols to ensure the well-being of their customers.
While I acknowledge that mistakes can happen, the gravity of this incident and its potential consequences cannot be overlooked. I urge all potential diners to take this warning seriously and consider alternative dining options until Red Robin demonstrates a clear commitment to rectifying these issues and maintaining a safe, sanitary environment for its patrons. Your health should never be compromised for the...
Read moreIt was supposed to be a special night out to celebrate my sister's birthday but Red Robin certainly put a damper on that by forcing us to race to a fast food restaurant and quickly choke it down.
We arrived at 6:50 on a Saturday evening as a party of 5 expecting a wait so we came early because they don't do call ahead seating or reservations. The woman who greeted us asked if we were all 21 or older then disappeared and we never saw her again. I finally asked someone else if we can go ahead and be put on the waiting list. She said I'd get a text when our table was ready and I immediately received a text at 6:59 letting me know the estimated wait time was 40 minutes. I checked several days before and Google Maps shows an average wait time of 30 minutes on Saturday nights so that was already slightly longer than I anticipated.
The waiting area is incredibly small so although there weren't many people inside it was full, so we went to our vehicles and waited. 45 minutes passed so I walked inside to check on our table to make sure we weren't skipped. They informed me there were 3 more parties ahead of us and it would be another 10 minutes. We were already growing impatient because they were steady but didn't appear to be busy enough to warrant an hour wait. Their parking lot wasn't close to full and even had open spots in the front next to the entrance.
At 8 we were frustrated enough with waiting we finally left and went elsewhere. We had a schedule to stick to in order to make our movie and based on their inability to even seat us, we probably would have been there at least another hour just waiting for our food to be served. At 9pm, just before our movie, I had STILL not received a text saying our table was ready. I called and was told they sent a message at 7:50 saying the table was ready but couldn't explain why I would receive the first confirmation text but not...
Read moreWe have been customers at this location since they opened and prior to that, the location south of Dayton and prior to that the West Chester location. Upon entering, there was nobody at the host/hostess stand, they were outside smoking so we headed to the bar. Two other customers at the bar and just a few bar tables occupied and the same in the dining room. This was our first time going since the "all-new burgers upgraded with better ingredients". It was very disappointing. Both burgers were overcooked, not at all juicy and not as good as I remember. This was after waiting 20 minutes after placing our order. I finally asked the bartender (who was trying and doing a good job under the conditions) if there was a problem in the kitchen as very little food had come out in our 20 minutes there. I would hate to think how long it would have taken had they been busy. She indicated that half of the staff was new and didn't know what they were doing. She asked the manager (I think) to check and about that time the burgers came out. We asked for the fries to be well-done/extra crispy, about half of them were and upon reordering the same, they came out after we finished the burgers and were not as requested either. I don't know if it is a management problem, an employee problem or a corporate problem but something was certainly amiss. Sadly, this may be our last visit to Red Robin, it was a huge disappointment. I thought about trying to speak to who appeared to be the manager but she seemed occupied with joking around with the employees and the person who should have been at the host/hostess stand when we entered. There are much better burger options in Dayton...
