O'Charley's Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Violet Township

I'm not sure what has happened to this place or if this was just a "off" day for this restaurant. Before I begin, I just want to say my family and I has been to this location numerous times and have always loved the food and service. Now for today, started off great, got seated quickly, very nice people overall. Now for the bad...the baby back ribs came cold, our steaks was gray in color...which means they was either spoiled or freezer burned...steaks was also made rare not medium rare...mashed potatoes was powdery...which means they was either old or instant. That was the main issues...now the minor...the waitress didn't ask how we'd like our steaks cooked, we ended up stopping her to tell her, and she said sorry and thanks for stopping her cause she was about to put in the wrong order, then I ordered a alcoholic beverage and wasn't offered water(which yes isnt a necessity), ketchup wasn't offered for the kids French fries, my fiance ordered a sweet tea and was brought unsweetened tea, we asked for more bread(that they bring out before meals) and was told they was out at this time, then 3 to 5 minutes later, two tables next to us got brought their 2nd basket of bread. There's more minor stuff but now where it gets even worse...after speaking to the manager about these issues he did replace our order and gave us a 20% discount(which we didn't want the discount we just wanted good food...which still didn't happen) after getting our replacement order we brought it home to find out the steaks was still GRAY in color...steaks was still rare...they did give us bread and a extra half rack of ribs...but does this really make up for all this??? Now our youngest and myself is throwing up the food we just ate,, im guessing due to the meat we was served!! So sad...really used to like this place. Not sure my family and I will be spending our money here anymore. Really wish I would of took photos of all this to show everyone. Today is 10/04/2020, we was there around 4pm est. Feel free to go judge for yourself if this doesn't paint a picture for you all or your in disbelief....

My family and I will never return to this restaurant. I would never recommend such an awful experience to anyone. The service was subpar. Our server barely made an appearance and only asked for our first refill when we were about done eating. The only reason any food was eaten is because we were there for an hour waiting and were quite hungry. My husband had the french dip. It was barely warm and tasted like old salty beef from the freezer. It was awful. My daughter ordered the honey drizzled chicken which was dry, overcooked and chewy. The bacon mashed potatoes were cold and her broccoli came out when she almost done eating and they were so hot from the microwave she couldn’t eat them. My brother in law ordered the classic burger with ketchup, mustard, pickle and cheese cooked medium. What he got was the bacon burger cooked super well done with two slices of swiss cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato and pickle. He asked the server for ranch several times and apparently mayonnaise is the same thing…. I ordered the New Orleans cajun chicken pasta. It was cold, not spicy, bland and disappointing. Our server ran from our table the few times she did stop and we were unable to speak to her about the issues. No one ever asked us how everything was. The staff barely acknowledged our presence. I was shocked to see how slow the staff was moving around the restaurant. No sense of urgency, no care. If you are looking for a nice place to eat with good service and good food this is definitely not the place to go. There are many better options within a quarter mile of this restaurant. Uh-oh, the Regular Guy Reviewer was here! I'll admit I'm a harsh critic but in my opinion it's easy to make customers happy. That being said let me say I am as nice as can be as a customer. I take it out on them here online. Right off the bat let me say the food was good. I had the Steak and Chicken Tenders dinner which was cooked well and tasted good. The waiter screwed up my order and never brought me a salad until my dinner came and only after I asked. Honest mistake which he made up for by bringing me a free pie! Good job there. The 2 stars however are for the restroom. Yes it was that disgusting. It looked like it had not been cleaned in a very long time. My wife described it as not having been cleaned in "weeks". She had brought our 3 year old son to the bathroom for him to go number 1. Well to her horror she describes a film that was all over the toilet and sink and mirror. Long story short it was nasty. My wife is no clean freak by any means so that really alarmed me. She said it was enough to make her want to leave but decided we were settled in we should stay. She immediately told the manager about the restroom and though he was apologetic he was placing blame on the manager before him. Not a huge deal, I mean we ate there. My only fear is what else are they not cleaning. What organisms am I ingesting? Those were my thoughts during dinner and hence the 2 star rating.
