Ocean's Ole — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

We were so disappointed at how our visit went here. I'll start with saying that we arrived when it was somewhat slow...right before the dinner rush. The waitress seemed super sweet and professional, but ultimately did not ensure that our food arrived to our table hot after waiting 2 HOURS with a 6 and 8 year old. The atmosphere was decent as we sat outside and enjoyed the people watching. Except for the occaisional smoker, it was cool. The waitress did not check in very often to give us updates as to what the status of our meals were. And when the food finally arrived, ALL the cheese on the food had hardened...our son's nachos were soggy...my husband's fajitas were luke warm...as were my elote, salmon and shrimp tacos. Our drinks and guacamole arrived earlier in the meal, were GREAT by the way. (Though the guac lacked seasoning.) Everything from that point on was disappointing. Especially for our kiddos having to wait so long. When we spoke to the waitress about the service, they were kind enough to reheat the food (meh -- but after waiting so long, we were starving, so we were amenable to that). But what was so disappointing was to receive a bill for $108 -- with 18% AUTOMATICALLY ADDED (which, according to the Manager, is standard) -- and no adjustments were made. For cold, re-heated food, after almost a 2.5 hour wait, at $108, and with an automatic 18% service fee...just seemed like a slap in the face. To be fair, the Manager did come over and speak (at our request), but spent more time addressing the wait time (which really wasn't valid since we were there when it was much slower in the beginning), and nothing about why the food came out late. Dessert was offered for our boys...but they were ready to leave by then. In the end, our bill was comped 20%. The food was tasty, but we won't try this restaurant again. (Others seemed to have good service, as they arrived, received their meals before us, and seemed to enjoy their food. So maybe you'll have...

I am so disappointed tonight. I thought I was taking my mom out for her birthday dinner to a nice Mexican Restaurant. First of all, I ordered corn tortillas with my street tacos and told them I have a gluten intolerance and I received flour (gluten filled) tortillas. The waitress told me the cooks didn't speak much English, sorry. They did give me a reorder on that item and remedied it but I did get gluten in my system which bothers my stomach. We also ordered the Ceviche-Peruvian. Which the description says is white fish marinated with lime juice, ginger, onions, jalapeño, and coconut milk. Nowhere does this state how hot this is...NOWHERE! I like hot things, actually love them. This is not that. My mouth hurt from the amount of jalapeño seeds that were in this appetizer, that by the way came after our meal. So I tried talking to our waitress and she tells me just because I don't prefer it that she can't take it off our bill. Even though we didn't eat it, and couldn't. I did however go to the front (oceanside)and ask for help from their sister bar Ocean's 14. The women that helped me was wonderful at listening and did her best to remedy this problem. I can't understand how this is establishment is still in business with this kind of customer service. I was told there was no manager on site but just so happened to find a bar...

Horrible horrible do not go to this restaurant especially if you are a tourist... Went here with my family for my son's birthday .. well we were told the wait was 10 mins 30 mins later we were seated. We ordered our food an hour later were finally able to eat, well my sister found a hair In her food we asked to speak to the manager and he accused us of planting the hair ... Now mind you the server was standing right there when my sister took a bite and pulled a long blond hair from her mouth. The manager said it was impossible that it came from a member of his staff because his cooks have blond hair .. well our server was blond and so was another server . But he said it was impossible and came from someone at our table. Me and my mother had the same order as my sister and we could not eat after that . Our bill was 115 and considered that what was ate was not impressive. The staff was nice but the manager was the rudest manager I have ever met. We paid our bill and left with our plates still full...
