Hi so as an Asian minority client who’s visiting with a friend of mine who’s Jewish and red head in W.dc it was very annoying and frustrating to not be served for over 20 mins because the bar tender was playing favoritism. During happy hour, just trying to live our best lives. So imagine getting up to the rooftop after a long day Tuesday early afternoon and you’re standing there, you got dressed up and left ur room to go upstairs. And you AND your bestie, both female ready for a refreshing drink. Facing such audacity and disrespect because a man decided to be jaded on a Tuesday even tho club should just be turning up on a Tuesday. Yikes. It’s Washington DC yall do better lmao. Oh btw we got charged full price during happy hour DC time. Here’s the receipt attached below, idk how to feel rn. We spent $20-$30 round up per drank DURING happy hour like is this man CRAZY???? Can he plz just be fr. Ok that’s yall bye, watch out for the haters queens. Periodt Pooh.
Ooof let it rip. It’s NOT giving year...
Read moreNice Rooftop Bar, but when I went there for an event it took me over 30 mins each time to get a drink order. The event was packed, but there were several issues I noticed behind the bar.
The bar staff shared one POS machine which meant they crowded around it trying to put in drink orders. The other issue was that they were opening cans to make drinks versus having a soda gun, nothing on draft, and plastic cups instead of glasses in some cases. They took time making fancy drinks with flames when they have several people that just want to get a simple beer.
It has the potential to be a nice vibe, but they need to up their game behind the bar. They're leaving a lot of money on the table not being able to serve drinks faster. Me and my party only got a couple drinks over five hours. We would have gotten double that amount if the wait time was at least 15 mins...
Read moreThe Thompson Bar Room is located off of the hotel lobby, just inside the main entrance from the street on the ground level - not to be confused with the Rooftop Bar, which is up the elevators on the roof. The lobby Bar Room is spacious, comfortable, well-lit, and quiet. The atmosphere is akin to a French salon, encouraging interesting conversation with friends and strangers alike, led by its host, Keith. The cocktails and small bites were exceptional, especially the smoked-cherry old fashioned, the interesting take on the aviation, the tomato salad, and the shrimp cocktail. We will definitely be back,...
