So I was driving for miles and finally arrived in town where my hotel was and we all decided Mexican food..we used Google and found this place. We pulled up and found a house that looked to be converted to a restaurant. My wife walked in and wanted to try another place but I said no I'm starving let's just try it plus it was busy inside so it must be good. We ordered but thought it would take forever because so many people are waiting and our orders were taken and we wait. The food came out withing 15 to 20 minutes which was surprising. It looked great. As I eat my enchilada it had good red sauce and meat flavor and then the beans and rice looked good but as I scoop the rice it like more like a white person tried to make Mexican rice but the person never tasted Mexican rice before it was closer to rice pilaf but the bean with cheese on top were fine. Ñow the tà co wasn't special but tasted okà y bit not great à nd so I tried to spice it up with salsa and it didn't really have flavor at all or spice. Às we eat my wife pulls a long hair out the salsa that we squirts out like a ketchup bottle and so it wasn't her hair. That was a big turn off but hey we ate because I was starving since we drove 400 Miles before eating. So would I go back prob not but for those prices it wasn't good...
Read moreThe food (we got a double order of fajitas, chips, and salsa) and to-go packaging were fantastic. We got exactly what we ordered, more in fact than we expected. The food was fresh and quite flavorful. We even had enough leftovers for breakfast fajitas the next day.
The service, however, left a little something to be desired.
If the management is reading this: I suggest working on providing more accurate turnaround times for to-go orders. When we ordered, we were told 20-30 minutes. When we arrived for pick up 30 minutes later, it wasn't yet ready and a further timeline of 10-20 more minutes was suggested. There seemed to be a disconnect between the front of house and the kitchen.
We get it, good food takes time, totally fine with that. We absolutely would have been good with waiting longer as needed, but the lack of conviction with which the information was conveyed didn't give us a lot of confidence that we would be able to successfully coordinate our meal time. The food was worth the wait, maybe just get a little better at estimating how long it's...
Read moreWe had an horchata, three tacos and a beef burrito after visiting grand canyon, food was ok, definitely not as good as Francisco's, service was ok. We were asked if we wanted red sauce on the side for burrito, sure. Then on the bill we were charged $9 for the burrito which is priced at $7.50 and 11.4 % tax. I checked google and tax should be 10.4%, waiter said maybe because it's the new year, how could you not know what the tax rate is? Is this a tourist scam, to charge whatever comes to mind? The small red sauce which we barely touched cost $1.5, we used mainly the mild tomato sauce in the bottle which was free. At Francisco's, all the sauces are free and you could have as much as you want. No military discount at first, but after I questioned the bill, waiter said he took off $1.5...ummm, I think that's for the sauce. Lesson learned, please double check your bill, I have google and a calculator on my...
