The check-in was not smooth at all. I checked him twice one at 10 in the morning and the gentleman took both my guest and myself’s ideas and we returned after 4 PM. We met with another gentleman. Apparently the other gentleman did not check us in. The second gentleman asked for our our IDs again and he told me that we were not going to be together both my parents and my husband with my kids. He actually had the closest rooms one on the third floor and one on the first floor that to him was the closest. I asked why was that the reason and he replied that it was because they wouldn’t know whether my guest and myself knew each other. Which I replied that that didn’t make sense as when I completed the booking, it asked who my guest was under the same booking confirmation number therefore this gentleman has no clue how it works when you book for a room and you put for adults and two children. You automatically get two rooms under the same booking number. Well, I did not get an apology from him instead it was a complete annoyance on his behalf. he ended up giving us a room on the third floor rooms very far apart. Second, the remote controls for both our rooms didn’t work more so our room you couldn’t even turn on the TV so that was a bit of an inconvenience. A gentleman came in and unfortunately the hygiene on the gentleman left a very strong odor, I understand and I am all for Diversity but as a hotel chain restaurant part of the training should be hygiene. We also found a pillow in one of our beds that had a red stain on it. Look like my blood. The toilet the toilet was not flushing very well and for two adults and two children that was quite inconvenient. The fact that you have a bar in the lobby and in no time shows any time of it open lures us guest to poke fun with other guest on your display bar only. My husband being from Europe, along with other European guests were blown away by the closed bar and that would never happen in any European small town that invites tourism from all over the world and have that kind of failed practice. The housemaids were much more kind and generous all smiles and the only welcoming we received were from the housemaids. The two gentleman that worked the Sunday AM and Sunday evening were not very amused, friendly and not one word of welcoming. I was blown away by that because we came in all excited to be back as this was our 3rd time staying at La Quinta. One of the gentlemen replied to me “I don’t know, not from here” when I asked him about an event happening in the town. For a small town and you are hosting for tourist you’d think they would be welcoming and had some friendly back ground knowledge. Williams folks are known to be very...
Read moreOur family planned our Christmas break Dec. 22-26 for LaQuinta Inn and Suites in Williams-Grand Canyon about a month or more in advance. I spoke with Kara (really nice and reassuring) via phone with my dietary concerns I made her aware of. I explained that I'll bring in her batter for waffles. We came in on Dec. 22nd, at check-in was greeted by Lester and Shea, these men knew what we had needed just by my name alone. (Quick info) Our daughter has an Anaphylactic allergy to dairy, nuts and other stuff, so I made her waffle mix at home for our stay. With knowing that, to ensure that she'll be ok they ordered her a waffle iron to use for our stay. They let me know that even though they won't be at work when breakfast starts they'll be back at 5am ensure she has the right one, so there won't be any confusion or cross contamination. Moving forward, we met Dixie and CC the next morning for breakfast, these ladies are running that area and will be a helping hand in helping you make the waffles bringing it to your table if needed, keeping everything stocked for you. (I'd call down 30 min before so they could warm it up) they showed me where to make her waffles at and that was done daily for our duration of stay. DeAndra, is another front desk attendant that made my kids night. As she was outside I joked saying I want a snowball fight, she laughed and said me too. My kids took it literally and my 4 & 5 yo hit her leg with a snowball and she played with them for a short while but it made their night. Angel, Carlos, and the rest of the cleaning crew were on it. The staff was wonderful, very personable and are willing to help, if it's in their power they will. It snowed and we stayed an extra 2 nights. We felt kind of like family I knew their names and they knew mine. I'd talk with them in passing. Places will have mishaps (out of their control) but what they do to fix it and how you're treated can't always be taught. So, thank you for treating our family...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night on June 17, 2020. It is a newer hotel, so it was clean and didn't have any musty smells like some older buildings have. The pool was open, but the dining area and gym were closed. This La Quinta is located just off the historic Route 66 highway, less than an hour from the Grand Canyon and is quite affordable (although, if you do not book straight through the hotel, you will be charged an extra water usage fee. Ours was an additional $4 because we booked with Expedia). They previously offered a hot continental breakfast each morning for guests, but due to the pandemic they had to put that on hold. They do have free snack bags to give to guests in the morning-ours included an pack of instant oatmeal, a granola bar, an apple, a muffin, and a small bottle of water. They also have a self-serve coffee, tea, and hot chocolate machine in the lobby. Our room had a microwave and a mini fridge, which is nice for families if you want to save money on dining and heat/eat food in your room. There is a Safeway grocery store just a few minutes away. The only real complaint I have was with the noise in the hallway, which came through our door very loudly. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend bringing earplugs or wear yourself out in nature that day so you will sleep soundly. I know that older hotels usually have heavy fire doors which seem to be more soundproof. Newer buildings like this seem to have a gap under the doors, which I believe is for better air circulation, but lets you hear everybody walking by, talking, or entering their room. We were in the middle of the hall so it might actually have been worse if we were located near an exit or an ice machine. I would like to compliment the staff. Cheyenne was very helpful with dining suggestions as we checked in. She was also very patient and attentive as she seemed to be training a new employee at the front desk. The ladies working in the morning were also very friendly...
