I've just got discriminated for being a local, therefore I'm writing this review in English! I came in on a rainy day, the service was nice and the staffs were friendly. Me and my friends were guided to the second floor. The experience was indeed fancy but the food wasn't as expected. We ordered the signature dish of the restaurant and it was said to be the best-seller. Personally for me, the taste was just 6/10 cause I'm not a fan of peanut. Both the menu and the staff didn't said anything about the peanut-based broth when I ordered. I don't know whether it is a common knowledge to know what is in the ramen base on the dish's name but I really think that you guys should inform the customer in advance. For the discrimination part, when I was leaving, I saw another guest (white and look like a Westerner) left in front of me and was offered A FREE UMBRELLA due to the weather condition. I am quite sure that the restaurant has given him a free one cause I saw the staff was running after him and insisting on him keeping it while he kept saying no. When I asked that staff "Do you guys give out free umbrellas for customers?" in Vietnamese, she smiled awkardly and said she thought I've already had an umbrella? Finally I have to ask for a one-time raincoat in order to get back to my place without...
Read moreTogether with opening full-hours (unlike other ramen stores), they have the most consistent dish quality and nice service.
Food: everything blends well perfectly. I tried traditional ramen and vegan ramen multiple times and they never fail me. The soup is well seasoned, the ingredients are fresh and the decoration is also top-notch.
Service: I always have my ramen over the counter and the staffs are friendly and all of them are skillful with handling conversations. They always smile with their customers (not in a weird way). I don’t usually enjoy people talking when having my food BUT they are my exception.
Atmosphere: crowded at night, you need to reserve in advance and silent during daytime. Works best with group under 4 people, and I don’t think this place is kid-friendly. More like date-nights small group friend gatherings customized. The space is also small and slightly dark inside.
Price: Around 200K for every bowl and +100K for drinks/ extra food.
Overall, I think I can get married to the ramen here haha. They...
Read moreHad an amazing experience here in Hanoi at Wan TanTan Ramen. We came as a group of four and even though one of the waiters was still training, he explained the menu well and the owner backed him up with so much knowledge. They also guided us through a sake tasting, which made the night even more special as it was my guests’ first time trying sake.
The staff were some of the friendliest I’ve met in Vietnam. The ramen was the star!! I’ve been to Japan many times and tried plenty of the famous spots, but this bowl was honestly my favourite. On its own it was incredible, and with the numbing chilli oil it went to another level.
The owner was generous enough to leave us with an opened bottle of sake on the house that still had a good amount left, which was a kind gesture, and all the side dishes, especially the wontons, were delicious. Nothing went wrong the whole night. Best ramen experience I’ve had, not only in Vietnam...
