Bánh mì Phố — Restaurant in Hà Nội

We’d seen this restaurant as we’d walked past it a few times on our daily travels around Hanoi and it was always busy so now was our chance to try! When we arrived there was only one other customer in front of us but the line behind grew very quickly. Luckily for us the ordering process was super easy! We ordered two Mixed Banh Mi’s which contained papaya and carrot salad, pork pate, chilli sauce, pork bologna, ham, cucumber and Banh mi crust. 1. Banh Mi I ate was good, bread was crunchy. Fillings were slightly on the lower side but OK. Food - 3.5 out of 5.

2. Disappointed by sneakily being short changed by the single member of staff working there at the time. I ordered 2 medium Banh Mi's (35k each) and a mineral water (10k). Gave 100k note, received change back of 2k, instead of 20k! Very much intentionally, rather than as a mistake, as the receipt stated receiving cash of 80k for a food order of...

The staff tried to rip us off - Shorted us 400k on the change (treating our 500k bill as a 100k) while immediately pivoting to taking the next customers order. This was obviously intentional and common practice. Also while in line, we saw them take back one customers wrong sandwich, that had been opened and handled by customers and staff, and repackage and then hand it off to another set of unsuspecting customers.
