I’m unsure how the reviews give this hotel five stars. The location is its best asset. 5 out of 5 for access by foot to all the inner city land marks and the river a very close by. The price is what draws people to the hotel. However I notice that at new years it’s jumped to almost $400 Euro. This old establishment is a ok hotel for around $150 Euro or less per night. And that’s because of the location. The rooms are not wide. So some people describe them as large. They may be long but you constantly hit your leg on the end of the wooden beds as you walk past. Mattresses are quite firm so that is subjective as to whether they are comfortable or NOT. Unusual and stupid design of the bathroom having to walk up two stairs in your room to open the door. Very unusual and probably not very safe to be honest. ||Quite a noisy hotel unfortunately. Seems like a quite street outside but certainly at Christmas New Years you can hear people talking outside. Not the best soundproofing inside either if you want a quiet sleep. You can hear everyone in the hallway talking and walking. The doors are very old school. With a key. Can be a pain to open and slam shut. Stay away from 4th floor quite noisy due to it being the breakfast area. We were on the 5th floor and you can still hear noise. ||Room is very clean. But very basic. Good air conditioning. Rooms do get quite hot Very small throw away TV screen mounted on a pole. In corner of the room. Internet is ok. Staff were simply ok. Not amazing and helpful but did their job to the minimum expectation. ||If you only want a room to sleep in and the price is right then consider this for the location. I personally would spend an extra $100 Euro a night and stay at a more modern or refurbished...
Read moreMy weekend stay at Cloister Inn in Prague was a mixed experience. Let's start with the positives: the room was notably spacious, providing ample space to move around comfortably. However, despite the generous size, the absence of a bidet was somewhat surprising, and the lack of convenient electrical outlets near the bed made charging devices a bit inconvenient.
While the room boasted a mini-fridge, it was regrettably empty, which was a letdown for those hoping for a cold beverage after a day of exploring the city. On the bright side, the hotel's location is commendable, situated in a pleasant area with easy access to various attractions and dining options.
The breakfast offered at the hotel was satisfying, featuring a decent selection of dishes to start the day. However, the broken shower head in the bathroom was disappointing and detracted from the overall experience.
Furthermore, the phone provided in the room was notably small and frustratingly slow to use, which could be an inconvenience for guests relying on it for communication or navigating the city.
In terms of security, the hotel's measures felt average, lacking some of the reassurances one might expect.
Overall, while the Cloister Inn offers a spacious room and a convenient location, there are notable areas that could be improved to enhance the guest experience. With attention to detail and some upgrades to amenities and facilities, it has the potential to provide a more satisfying stay for...
Read moreThe place is even better than expected. We stayed here for 6 nights and were a short 10-15 minute walk to the Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, tram service, and the subway. There are no crowds or noise outside and it is quite at night. There are places near by to eat and drink. The staff is very nice and helpful. The airport lost our luggage and the front desk called 3 times a day to check on the status until it arrived. Then when it did arrive they helped us take it to our room. The breakfast is also great with fruit, bread, meat, cheese, hard boiled eggs, and more. Our room had a sitting area, bathroom, and bedroom. It was plenty of space and all we needed on our trip. The hotel was well priced and I recommend this place to others. If you want to walk outside and be in the middle of everything then this is not the place for you. Stay here if you want to visit everything and have a nice quite place to return to.
The hotel rooms do not have a view of Prague, only of the building across the street. The rooms only have showers, no bath tub which was OK for us. The closest self laundry place is a 15 minute walk. The hallway does smell like smoke but the room does not. This is probably due to the smoking outside in the streets coming in from the open windows in the halls. It is not a problem. In Prague there are people smoking outside everywhere so any place you go will have this over time if they open...
