Absolutely Disgraceful Experience – A Mockery of Indian Hospitality
Golden Tikka Restaurant, Prague – Never Again.
What we experienced at this so-called “Indian” restaurant was nothing short of humiliating and enraging.
We had called ahead and placed our food order earlier in the evening, planning to dine in peace at 10 PM. We were very clear that we’d arrive by then and that we might need to order more depending on the portion sizes. The manager reassured us that the last order would be taken at 10:30 PM – which we respected.
We sat down right on time, placed our order immediately, and the first round of food came at 10:25 PM. And surprise, surprise – the portions were ridiculously small for a group of four. Naturally, we tried to order more of the same dishes, well within the promised time window, only to be told moments later that the kitchen was closed.
No warning. No courtesy. No care.
We had already informed them in advance that we might reorder after checking the portions, and they had no objections then. So when they turned around and refused to serve us more food, it felt like a deliberate slap in the face. We weren’t just ignored – we were dismissed.
What followed was even more appalling. When we politely tried to express our dissatisfaction, the restaurant manager turned rude, arrogant, and downright disrespectful. This wasn’t just bad service; it was personal. His tone and attitude were hostile and unacceptable – not what any guest deserves, especially after being misled.
At this point, we had had enough. I pulled out a 50-euro note to pay the bill, and while I was still holding it, the manager snatched it from my hand after flashing the amount on a calculator. That moment – standing there, being treated like a nuisance, like we were unwelcome in a place supposedly serving Indian culture and cuisine – was absolutely degrading.
Golden Tikka is a disgrace to Indian food and Indian values. Serving Indian food should be done with pride, warmth, and respect. This place? It’s a mockery. They’ve taken our culture and turned it into a soulless, commercial joke. Zero courtesy. Zero integrity. Zero accountability.
To any Indian visiting Prague – skip this place. You deserve better. You deserve food served with respect, not humiliation.
Golden Tikka is not Indian hospitality. It’s an insult to it.
WORST dining experience I’ve had in...

First of all, we were group of 9 people and a not large group. There was only one stroller and a baby was sleeping in the stroller. Either you are lying in this forum or your restuarant manager cooked up a story to defend himself. It is very insensitive of your manager to behave in a manner such as, asking us to keep the stroller outside, while the baby is still sleeping in the stroller. I had an argument with him, after he insisted us to keep the stroller outside for the 4th time, not the 1st, 2nd or the 3rd time. This has crossed all limits of bad behavior. If I were in your place, I would have fired him immediately for showing such inhuman, insensitive behaviour.
The food was excellent, but the behaviour of your manager and the atmosphere he created for us was very very bad. Horrible Service. Waiter made lot of issues keeping baby pram, while baby was sleeping. This is inhuman behaviour. If the owner is seeing this review, better train your waiters on how to behaviour...
