Came here as my Wife was so excited about this place. The explanations is in the name of said establishment. Entered easily and took a comfy seat having said hello in Czech to the friendly staff at the bar. We waited a while for the menu to appear, surprisingly as the restaurant was most quiet and there were ample staff in attendance.....or not in attendance you might say?😉 We then waited a while (ten minutes approximately) to place our order. We sat relaxing and excited by the choices we had requested. The staff were happily chatting to each other at the bar close by which made me smile as there appeared no sense of urgency so I just lay back and enjoyed talking with my Wife. Other customers entered sat down etc. which I hardly noticed until their drinks and food arrived a while later but with no sign of our own. My drink was only a beer🍺 (I know I'm a philistine for ordering such a drink in such a place) and my Wife's the quintessential hot chocolate so what travesty had taken place? I pointed this out to my Wife but immediately brushed it off offering the thought that it must be because I had ordered a warmed sandwich? Sadly, unbeknownst to us the waitress had misplaced the order. When the lady realised she politely asked us if we could repeat our orders again to her but explained there would be a wait as one of our orders would take around ten minutes to prepare. Sadly, this had taken well over twenty/twenty-five minutes so the magic and excitement was lost. We are generally very relaxed about such honest mistakes but having witnessed a great lack of attentiveness upon all the staffs part we politely said that we had another engagement elsewhere. A few mintes later we left with a smile upon our lips happy in the knowledge that we were able to try somewhere else instead. I really appreciate good service and am always glad and quick to compliment others. I manage hospitality in my own work and know full well how people in general are very quick to complain. I would rather say nothing at all than be negative so let me end with.....the place has a nice look and simple elegance. The chocolate and drinks I'm sure are delightful and I'm sure should I ever be brave enough to try again I'm sure I would be rewarded. Bless you if you're still...

My one-star review reflects my experience with the café's management.

I moved next door to Choco Café two months ago and would stop by daily to enjoy a delicious cup of hot chocolate or coffee, while I worked on my laptop.

But a chronic medical condition from which I had a brief period of remission returned, and the intense headaches and brain fog I started to experience once again forced me to work solely from the quiet of my home.

After a few weeks of not having visited the café, one of the two managers saw me outside and asked where I had been. I mistakenly revealed to her the details, along with the cause, of my health issues. I say "mistakenly" because her reaction could not have been more cruel.

I have blood clots in my brain and in my heart, which are causing a laundry list of severe symptoms.

I shared all of the above, including the following, to this individual:

  1. A clinic in another country, which falsely claimed it could "cure" my condition, scammed me out of 12,000 Euros.
  2. My business is suffering tremendously as a result of my inability to work effectively.
  3. My life is unrecognizable to the one I had prior to my illness.

Rarely do I share such personal information with someone, let alone someone I don't know very well. And I only did so after she denied the verifiable claims I made concerning the cause of my health problems.

But it was when she said that my symptoms were likely "psychosomatic" that I decided enough was enough.

At that point, I calmly told her that her lack of empathy was incredible. And then I walked away.

I am a devout Roman Catholic. But tolerance is NOT a virtue.

So, while I highly recommend that you enjoy the delicious food and beverages at Choco Café, I won't set foot in this establishment ever again.

*P.S. I actually wrote this review a few months ago and took it down out weeks later out of respect for the staff. But after several instances of being sneered and snickered at by employees while leaving and returning home, I decided to repost it. My health has gotten progressively worse...And I really don't appreciate the lack of respect, in particular since I was nothing but kind to everyone at Choco Café during my short time...

This place is a blessing in a cold winter afternoon. We were fortunate enough to get a table without reservation after waiting for less than 15 min, due to some people that surrendered. The place was absolutely packed from 16 to 17. We walked in at 16 and decided to leave, hoping it'd get a little empty. It didn't happen, but thanks to those that weren't patient enough we got a table. The waitress are terribly kind, even though they were dealing with such a huge crowd. Not gonna say it was the fastest service, but considering the great menu they have, you should appreciate the time that you get to think about your order. The hot chocolate is magnificent. It is not powdered chocolate dissolved in milk or water, but rather pure chocolate melted, which you can accompany with whipped cream, fruits or liquor. Or, in my case, all of the above. I had a hot chocolate with cherry, rum and whipped cream. Pure indulgence. My taste buds where lost in pleasure. The coffee is also quite nice, but nothing to write home about when you compare it to the hot chocolate and pastries. The cakes where also a major hit. And while you're at it, you may just as well give the wines a chance. The atmosphere is also nothing to rage about. It was chill, but everyone was doing their own thing. We even offered to share our table, since we got a big four sits table and it was just us two. They told us no one ever did that, and the people who sat with us weren't quite pleased with the idea of sharing. So, not much of a good experience. Overall is a great place, something I would definitely recommend when someone is coming to Prague. I'm conflicted on whether I want to let everyone know how great it is, or try to keep it as secret as possible. But I guess the cat is already out of the bag! Do yourself a favor and pay...

One of sweet hidden spots in Prague that has a really interesting menu. Types of chocolate you can taste here, from all around the world is really amazing. I went for something from Dominican which I remember fondly, when it comes to the drinkable chocolate and it was really good, though not the same. We had a bit of a problem with service, since they forgot about our cakes, however it was resolved quite quickly after we asked. When it comes to the taste they were ok, we both had our favorites, however not the cheesecake nor the salted caramel moved us, so if we ever visit again we will try other types, since the selection was quite wide even though we were hour before closure. Overall we were happy, the cafe itself is cozy and quiet, you can also buy some of the chocolate to make it at home, so I hope to come back again.

This is the real deal. Extremely thick and pure hot chocolate. Be warned tho that this will ruin your hot chocolate experience. Any cup of hot choco after this will now be ruined and you'll find yourself wanting to be back here instead. Think of the levels of grabbing a big chocolate bar, melting it yourself, and adding all sorts of ingredients you like such as ice cream, whipped cream, chili, strawberry. Definitely a must try! They also had cakes here which we would have loved to try however we were already so full, and their hot choco is also very filling. Husband did get us something of a cinnamon roll (can't remember the name) but we both really liked that too.. light, and something unique.
