My fiancé and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Alriso Risotteria Italiana during our visit to Prague, and we must say, it was a delightful experience overall.
Upon entering the restaurant, we were captivated by its charming and inviting ambiance. The decor exuded a warm, rustic Italian charm that instantly made us feel at ease. The staff was friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive impression from the start.
As gluten-free diners, we were pleased to find a wide array of options available to cater to our dietary needs. I opted for the Spaghetti with Shrimps, Garlic, Chili, Fennel, Almonds, and a glass of Staropramen Lager Beer, and my fiancé chose the Spaghetti with Smoked Salmon, Cherry Tomatoes, and Rucola.
Both dishes were simply exquisite. The flavors were authentic and rich, reminiscent of the traditional Italian cuisine we adore. The al dente gluten-free pasta was a pleasant surprise, and the seafood and vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection. The combination of ingredients in each dish was well-balanced, creating a truly memorable culinary experience.
However, we encountered a slight hiccup when my fiancé's dish arrived with cheese, despite her dairy allergy. This oversight was not mentioned on the menu, and it could have been easily avoided if the waiter had inquired about any allergies before taking our orders. Nevertheless, the staff handled the situation graciously and promptly prepared a new dish, which my fiancé thoroughly enjoyed. We recommend the restaurant to clearly indicate on their menu that some dishes contain cheese, but it can be omitted upon request.
Putting aside the aforementioned hiccup, Alriso Risotteria Italiana offered reasonable prices for the high-quality food and the overall dining experience. The value we received for the money spent was outstanding, making it an ideal option for those seeking an authentic Italian meal without breaking the bank.
Despite the cheese incident, we left the restaurant with smiles on our faces, grateful for the delightful gluten-free Italian dishes we had enjoyed. If you find yourself in Prague and have a craving for Italian cuisine, Alriso Risotteria Italiana is undoubtedly a must-visit. It's a wonderful place where you can savor delicious meals in a beautiful ambiance, making it a memorable addition to your culinary journey...
Read moreThey do not accept card, only cash, which leads me to believe there's some tax evasion going on. They claimed to have had a problem with the terminal which I don't believe to be true, especially after reading other comments that point out the same problem.
To make matters worse, there are no ATMs nearby, and it takes about 15-20 minutes round-trip to withdraw cash. Be sure to use an ATM from a reputable bank and avoid the ones that overcharge tourists—it's simply not worth it.
As for the food, it was decent but nothing extraordinary. The risotto was fine—certainly not the best I’ve had. Portion sizes were reasonable, though not overly generous. If you order a large bottle of water, be aware that they serve what seems like tap water but charge for it.
Overall, the prices seem a bit high for what you get, though. Also, desserts are almost 10 euros each. They didn't seem worth it.
Once we finished our meal, we asked for the bill and the waitress brought it over. I needed a moment to sort through the cash, as I'm not familiar with this currency, but the waitress stood over us and immediately asked if we wanted to leave a tip. I handed in the money and told her no. She asked if everything was alright and I explained how it had been really inconvenient having to go find an ATM and how I didn't feel the experience deserved a tip.
Honestly, if I had been given some space to pay, I would have probably left something as I don't want to carry around cash but I felt the situation was very uncomfortable and awkward.
As I'm a coeliac I can't just pop in any restaurant I want, that's why we specifically went there.
2 stars for the food and being 100% gluten free.
Sadly, I don't think I'll be back during my...
Read moreAbsolutely do not recommend this place. My husband and I came to the restaurant and ordered a Caesar salad, Sicilian soup, and pasta. Drinks were served right away, and the soup came just a couple of minutes later. I’m attaching photos as proof. In the first photo, you can see the drinks, with the time on top. Then, as I said, the soup arrived. But then we waited 40 minutes for the rest of the food — the salad and pasta. We saw other tables getting their meals and didn’t understand what was going on.
When we asked the waitress when our food would arrive, she rolled her eyes and walked away. Confused, we later called the manager and asked the same question. He told us that since we had ordered a starter — meaning the soup I ordered — my husband had to wait all that time with nothing to eat. I told him, “If you haven’t noticed, my husband has been sitting here for over 40 minutes without food.” The manager replied that it would be out soon.
Yes, the food arrived after that — in about 4 minutes — but the Caesar salad was just huge chunks of chicken, as if they hadn’t even prepared it for a salad, and some lettuce. Very disappointing. The pasta was fine, but by that point the experience had already been ruined. Later, the manager came back and started pushing us to order dessert, insisting on it. We firmly declined. Terrible experience overall — we absolutely do not...
