Very nice and comfortable hotel. Very good rooms and location is unbeatable. Unfortunately we got grossly scammed by two taxi drivers that left us at the hotel door. Please don’t grab a taxi in Prague, you are going to be very unsafe if you do. The day we arrived we grabbed a cab in the taxi stand on the train station, when we arrived to Prague we came from Budapest and Vienna so we weren’t very clear about the exchange rate with the Czech Crown. As soon as we arrived to the hotel we were very aggressively rushed by the driver and he started shoving the credit card outlet on our face so we proceeded to pay to avoid bigger safety problems. We then realized after checking that this driver had charged us 330 usd for the trip. That same night another taxi driver gave us a fake bill as change stealing from us another 50 euros. Please do not grab a taxi, unfortunately things like this make you leave such an amazing city like Prague in disgust. We have 100% certainty that this is not Bookquets hotel fault and that it is on us, we would never expect the hotel to take accountability or give us a solution. However, we proceed to give a very bad score to this hotel and its staff for the way they acted towards us after de incident. I went with my dad at checkout to the front desk to explain the whole situation to the reception staff so that they could help us do something about it. We only asked them if they could help us watch de hotel cameras to be able to identify the license plate number and be able to make an official police complaint to prevent this two scammers of affecting other tourists. The only thing we wanted was for the hotel staff to help us talk to the police as we thought it should be in a five star hotel interest to help guests when they are scammed and vulnerable. The response from the guy at the front desk was the following “We can’t do anything you should know to never take a cab when traveling” We think this was a disgusting answer by the hotel staff as we were feeling the obligation to put a complaint to try and protect fellow travelers. Like I said before it is not the hotel responsibility what happened but the way they reacted and responded is just completely unacceptable from a five star hotel. We believe if you are in a foreign country being vulnerable and scammed, the staff should at least try to take actions with the police so that this situations stop. We think it should be in the hotel’s best interests to give a hand in this difficult moments. Because of the situation explained before i would never ever come back again to this hotel or recommended to anyone. It’s very sad to experience such a lack of empathy from the hotel staff. It’s a shame because it’s a very nice hotel in a very nice hotel but never ever again at the...

Hotel BOOKQUET was recently renovated and rebranded, so don’t let older reviews fool you into thinking this hotel isn’t amazing. It’s a 5-star experience at 3/4-star prices. This is what we all want.
First, the staff are incredibly kind and service-oriented people. Yara, Hendrix, Hamza, Ira, etc. From the front desk to kitchen to servers to housekeeping. They’re each doing an excellent job. We stayed here for over a week, so we fully tested the hotel experience.
The food was spot on. A good mix of Czech and European options. We ate breakfast daily here and dinner twice. Very good local wines with at least one you can’t get anywhere else. Just ask Yara.
The location is very central to the Old Town and located right on the Vltava River. It’s less than 5 minutes to the Charles Bridge. The entrance is on a quiet cobblestone street with many restaurants and mini markets within a 2 minute walk. You can also use Wolt or other food delivery apps to have food delivered to the front desk and they’ll call you when it arrives. The whole area felt very safe.
Last, but not least, are the rooms. Clean, comfortable, and modern with a fusion of Czech with literature (BOOK) and flower (QUET) themes. Many have breathtaking views of the Vltava River and Prague Castle. If your budget allows, then get a royal suite. They have 4. Two with saunas and two with fireplaces, but both with amazing views.
In a city full of old and some tired hotels, this is a breath of clean and fresh air. Come to Prague, book a royal suite at Hotel BOOKQUET, get a cappuccino after breakfast, and then curl up with a good book on the sofa as you see Prague Castle through your window and the peaceful Vltava floats by. It’ll become one of your favorite...
Read moreWe stayed at Bookquet Hotel from Saturday to Tuesday and had a mixed experience. The room was large, tidy, and the bathroom was spacious – definitely a plus! Unfortunately, it was not possible to lock the bedroom door from the inside, which was a big downside for us. We also missed having a full-length mirror in the room, making it difficult to see ourselves properly.
One issue was that the hotel was under construction, which was not mentioned when we booked the hotel. This was a big negative for us!! Thankfully, the construction didn’t cause much disturbance, but it did make the breakfast area quite cold and somewhat noisy, which was uncomfortable.
The staff seemed helpful and friendly. There was usually only one person at the reception, which caused things to take unnecessarily long. We also had a very stressful checkout, as we were not informed during check-in that the room had to be inspected before the €100 deposit could be refunded. This caused delays, and we had to wait 20 minutes to check out, which created unnecessary stress before our taxi arrived.
The breakfast was, unfortunately, a big disappointment and definitely not worth it. The food was poorly labeled, which is important, especially for those with allergies and food intolerances. We found the breakfast area chaotic, and the staff was not very organized. Another unfortunate experience was when we were interrupted during breakfast to be asked if we could leave a review for the hotel – something we have never experienced before! Seems like everyone in Praha is obsessed with reviews lol.
Overall, we would rate the room a strong 4-5 stars, but the service and the overall experience would only receive a 3 from us. Due to the many small annoyances, we will not be returning...
