It was my grandma’s dream to wear a Kimono. We were looking for shops around Asakusa but most shops had a flight of stairs to climb up which wasn’t ideal for my 88-year-old grandma. Fortunately, we found this shop and they had an elevator! They had a variety of designs to choose from. 🩵 The staff were extremely helpful and nice!

Price range for the kimono is from 3,000 yen to 6,000 yen if I am not mistaken depending on the design.

For women, they do your hair for you. If I remember correctly, simple hairstyles and hair accessories are free of charge but other accessories have an additional fee. They also have a variety of cute bags that you can choose from but they have additional fees too.

Overall, my experience with Genrokukimono was very pleasant and my parents would actually like...

My first time renting kimono, the guy at the counter was friendly and helpful when I wanted to make a reservation for the next day as I had reached near their closing time. Communication was smooth despite our broken Japanese and English respectively haha. He was great in helping me pick out my kimono and accessories. Do note that the accessories are additional costs. The basic kimono for ladies was ¥5000, plus a few additional ¥500s for accessories. The ladies dressed me quickly and securely, but my hairstyle fell apart soon after I stepped out of the rental store (my hair is quite thin and smooth). Overall I had a great time and took many...

Customer service was absolutely amazing and very...

We went to Nakamise-dori without a plan of what to do and they dressed us super well! I didn't think they'd be able to deal with my long box braids but they got it into a bun and decorated my look super well! You don't need heavy knowledge of Japanese to walk out with a super good look from them either! (sorry about not having hair photos)
