Seriously I dun really recommend this shop. I went here few days ago with my boyfriend was because of the reviews. The shop was clean but staffs spoke English barely even though it was already much better than the other shops in Japan. I highly recommended you to do a reservation before you go as it was a different price in between reservation and walk-in. There were few things I didnāt really like this shop. It was true they had many kimonos for women to choose but there were few options from the basic plan ( they were not that beautiful ) if you want to rent the one a bit more beautiful u have to pay much more. From 6000ish yen to 10000ish yen. They also had different things suggested you to upgrade your kimono for example if you want a pettier nagajuban ( show at the collar) you have to pay 500 yen more, prettier waistband 500-1000 yen more, waistband accessories 500-1000 yen more, prettier hair accessories 500-1000 yen more and prettier hairstyle 500-2000 yen more. I just felt like they were trying too hard to ask you to pay more and more. Also, one thing I am very disappointed! The staff asked me about the insurance at the beginning then I told her no and she asked me again when I was choosing the kimono bag and I said no again so I was pretty sure she understood I didnāt want insurance. They didnāt give us a receipt until I asked for after we paid. It was taking her a while to prepare the receipt till we was ready to go but at that time we didnāt have enough time to look at it properly then few days later, I found out they charged me insurance which was 500yen-.- I think she charged us on purpose as she avoided to give us the receipt at the beginning. One thing I would suggest you do more research, compare with another kimono shops and rmb make a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFriendly and skilled staff, in and out quickly. Most staff also spoke basic English so communication (for dressing) wasnāt really an issue. One of the most budget-friendly yet quality rental shops in Tokyo. They are a chain with many locations! Overall great experience. Just that the cancellation policy for reservations (recommended and cheaper by 500-1000 yen) is very, too strict (3 days before free, 2 days before 50% of booking fee, and then after that 100%). And the various add-ons that they tempt you with (like different obi bow styles, hairstyles, hair accessories, handbags, etc.) and also a 550 yen āinsuranceā fee (technically optional but..highly recommended per staff) that felt a little nickel and dime-y. But itās Japan after all, kimono rentals arenāt cheap (as nearly as say Hanbok rentals), but the standard package includes a fair amount and is very decent especially for its price point compared to other shops in the area. I also would have wished that staff explained a bit more about the layers and dressing process as you are being (carefully wrapped) like a doll. There are multiple ties, a towel, and a flattening board at tied around your waist - it will be tight. But you can ask them to loosen it a bitā¦you cannot take photos or video record the dressing process or hairstyling process however⦠Overall recommended. A standard package (online reservation) with a 1100(?) yen hairstyle upgrade came out to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a decent experience overall, and I appreciate that some of the staff spoke English ā that was really helpful and made the process smoother. Most of the team was kind and really sweet, which I truly appreciated.
However, I did feel a bit disappointed at the end. One of the staff, one of the staff helped me throughout the process. But when it came time to pay, one of her colleagues tried to confirm the price of the yukata I chose, and she stopped her and responded with a bit of a smug smile. It gave me the impression that she was happy I didnāt question the price. What surprised me most was that she assumed I didnāt understand Japanese ā I overheard her say, āSheāll pay for premium,ā even though I was sure I chose the tier below that. I didnāt want to make a scene, so I just went ahead and paid, but it left me with mixed feelings.
Just a little tip ā double-check the options and prices before paying. :)
