Admiral Cheng Ho's Gallery is inspired by the story of China's famous sailor Admiral Cheng Ho (Zheng Ho) who was born in 1371 in Hodai, a village in Bao San District in Yunnan. He was named Ma Ho and his surname San Bao. The gallery features her cruising story to the southern sea as well as her success in fostering a brotherhood relationship between China and the African and Asian Countries and opening doors for fair business. The position of the gallery is on the right side of the Stadthyus Building (History and Ethnography Museum) and is located between the Literary Museum, the Ethnographic & Ethnographic Museum and the Democratic Government Museum. Among the exhibits are porcelain, ship replicas, book collections narrating the history of Admiral Cheng Ho and related articles. Admiral Cheng Ho's Gallery was opened to the public in February 2003 along with the opening of the Malaysian History & Ethnography Museum and the Malaysian Youth Museum which has been reopened after being temporarily closed for the upgrade process.
