I have been coming here for decades. In the old days ('90s), they used to serve porridge as well. But now we usually order the mee sua soup, oyster egg, bittergourd, liver, yellow hokkien mee, and fried beehoon. I had not been here for over a decade and really returned for the nostalgia and old school taste. The mee sua is less tasty than before, but still hits the right spots, with the minced pork, intestine, small oysters and small shrimps evenly cooked and well blended with generous portion of vegetables. I think the stock is special with the sweetness from the seafood and also pre-fried with onions and garlic before adding the stock. Only the master handles the mee sua soup, while the other chefs cook the noodles and oyster egg.
The oyster egg is always toooo goood. I'm still dreaming of it after a week. The egg is nicely salted and oysters fresh and not rubbery. I always wonder where they find such small, sweet oysters.
The bittergourd dish and pork liver dish were both masterfully created. Not bitter at all. And liver so soft and not chewy.
The yellow noodles and beehoon are ok and like any other from elsewhere.
The coffee shop is cramped so it's difficult to get a seat. Come early or just prepare to wait. Each bowl of noodles is prepared individually from scratch, i.e. fry onions and garlic, then add minced pork, then add stock, etc... So, the wait is long, but the mee sua is not soggy.

The meesua soup was exceptionally good. It has plenty of pork inerds, lean pork meat, baby oysters and veggie. The soup tasted really good with an addition of some pork lard. Such is comfort food especially on a rainy morning. Oyster omelette was not exceptional but eggs are never wrong in the morning. They offer kampung koh chilli sauce which goes very well with the omelette. I reckon that there is no/less msg in the soup as no sensitive reaction thereafter.
Only grip is the coffee. It was not a version which I liked i.e was a tad diluted for my liking i.e. Malaysians would refer to as not adequately "kau".
The cooking is managed by the owners - an old couple. They cook and serve each bowl at a time hence if there is a crowd, it may be a long wait. But looking at them cook, I reckon no one would be able to bring onself to complain.

Read moreA must visit eating place. It is quite hard to find, has to ask for locals. This mee sua eating place is located opposite to a catchy building with orang utan sketches all over the wall. So happy we came in early. 5 mins later it was full house. What makes this bowl of mee sua different from what we have in other city/ place is that they cook only 1 bowl at a time (so wait patiently). Sweet savoury broth, they use oyster, lard, shrimp, minced and sliced pork. This eating place might seems old but sure keep its hygiene. We can see it from its floor, eating utensils and the way they prepare their ingredients. This is the cleanest pig intestine i have had. Btw, for coffee drinker, their coffee is made with sugar (quite a lot). So remember to ask them for less sugar...
