JSK Floating Island (Jesselton Point Counter) — Attraction in Sabah

I thoroughly recommend JSK Borneo Reef.

JSK Borneo Reef is a pontoon/platform built near Gaya Island.

For the Ocean Escapade Package (I paid RM145 per adult), these were included:

Certified life guard escorting you to snorkel at the coral reefs to see marine life. If you are not a strong swimmer, you can opt to hang on to a life buoy that the life guard pulls. All you need to do is put your head down to see the wonderful marine life.

Unlimited use of shower facility, toilets, beach chairs...

It is good value when compared to the island-hopping packages (which are essentially boat transfers with no dedicated staff looking after you).

At the time of writing, JSK's Ocean Escapade package costs RM145 per adult, while a 2-islands boat transfers and snorkelling gear rental costs about RM110.

Special mention: Adi, the life guard who looked after us on JSK Borneo Reef, was awesome. Very grateful to him for escorting us to the coral reefs to see the wonderful marine life.

Value...

Had a great experience with this tour operator. They're a professional company with decent boats and an attractive jetty to leave for Mantanani island from in Rampayan. The island itself is beautiful but unfortunately there was a bit too much trash and construction junk on the beach when I was there but if you walk away from this area the beach is beautiful and the sea so blue. The snorkeling was also disappointing though as the reefs are not in good shape and the masks provided were not very good, it's the only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 for JSK.

The real highlight of the tour for me was the river cruise. I was fortunate to see a lot of proboscis monkeys and the fireflies were absolutely magical, an unforgettable experience. Tony was a great guide who answered all questions and is an absolute wizard at attracting fireflies.

Went to this place with my 8 years old son and had a great time on the JSK ocean reef. I was surprised that not many people know this paradise. The staffs on board are very friendly and helpful . It has many water activities from floating theme park, kayaking (transparent kayak), snorkeling (with guide), small underwater aquarium, children pool that u can swim with tropical fishes, little jelly fishes( not harmful) and little crabs 🤭 I find this pool very interesting. While My son was being taken care by a certified life guard (En Adi) when he is kayaking and doing the floating theme park, I can just sit back and sit relax on the deck. Another additional benefit is their snorkels(the one u need to put in your mouth) and life jackets r clean and new. 🤣 u won’t feel hesitated to put in your mouth.
