I pulled into your store on my way home from holiday to collect a few bits for the road. Me and my disabled father arrived and he needed to use the bathroom. We asked if there was a bathroom in store so we walked to the very back of the store. We got to the toilet and it appeared to be locked. I asked a colleague whether we needed a key or was it in use and he said someone must be using it. We waited and waited and no one came out. I went off to do some shopping while my mother and wife waited with my father to use the bathroom. Still no one came out, we were waiting for 5-10 minutes. My wife asked several colleagues who said various excuses from it was in use to it’s been locked for the evening. She then finally heard one member of staff admit that the toilet had been cleaned and locked for the evening. My wife said so you won’t open it for a disabled paying customer and her response was “no”
We all left without any items and had to walk my father back to the car and find the nearest facilities which was Tesco in the next town, 15 minutes away.
I am absolutely disgusted that they let him stand at the toilet door for nearly 15 minutes as we held him up with his walking stick in one hand and another stood at the side of him. They all saw us too and none of them would have said a thing unless we asked, like we did on multiple occasions.
I think they must have found it as some sort of joke, I wish I had gotten the names of the staff but it was pretty much anyone who was stocking the shelves that evening. They stood and watched us waiting
Also it was around 19:30pm. The store closed at 10pm and they had left the baby changing facilities open so why not...
Read moreHad to use this store several times now and each time found it very handy. Sounds silly to say it had everything you would hope a co op would have .. but it just about "cut it" for a relatively small 'large' store. As its not a small shop, nor is it a large supermarket. It balances everything quite nicely. Even with its own fish counter (albeit teeny tiny!) Coffee machine, sandwiches to go and self checkouts. Plenty of parking. Petrol station just round the corner (cheapest around for miles) Fairly recent build, so it doesn't feel dark and dingey. Staff seem happy to be there. Overheard a few happy customers having a good old natter...
