I am writing this review to CONFIRM what multiple other members have complained about in their reviews here. There are staff member at this gym, that are EXTREMELY rude to the members here at the Gym. Specifically Shana the front desk girl. I have been a member of this gym now for over a year and nevr had any issues, and been a gym member for over 20 years total in my life. I have never ever met a ruder, more argumentative, out of line front desk/ customer service employee in my life! I will be calling their corporate office to report her bad attitude and inform them it's NOT just me. Read the MANY other google reviews regarding the rudeness of the staff members at this gym. Here's what happened. I show up to work out and there is someone ahead of me at the front desk. I wait about a minute and realize this person may be here a while, so I walk around and show Shana my gym Id card to let her know I'm a member and not trying to sneak in. She abruptly tells me that I have to check in. I say "Ok, I see you were busy, you should put the card scanner up on the counter for the members to check in, like others have done in the past" She says, still in her abrupt tone, that is not allowed and she can't do that. I corrected her and told her, I see it done all the time, almost on a daily basis and told her I will take a picture of it next time and show her that she is misinformed. She orders me to do so and show it to the operations manager Gio. I told her, no, I will find her, Shana and show it to her since she is clueless that this goes on in the gym. I have even walked in when the Operations manager is behind the desk and seen her put the scanner out for member's to check in, if there was a wait or long line. Shana continues to argue with me as I'm walking away and I hear her tell me to just go away. I would usually just go about my business but I stop and think, wait a minute, I'm paying money here and should not be spoken to or treated this way. I have done nothing wrong other than just wanting to check in and work out. I go back up to her and she is now facing me looking very hostile, I tell her she is rude and needs to be retrained VERY badly because she should not be speaking to members this way. She tells me that she has been working there for over 3 years which caused me to laugh. I let her know that LA Fitness must be desperate for help if they have kept you around this long!... and this is the truth, they are always hiring new front desk staff. I inform her that she has no business being positioned at a customer service desk with her bad attitude. I start to walk away and she yells at me that she is done talking to me! Really?? The guy that is in front of her is just looking at her the whole time like, "Is this really happening" This woman is extremely hostile and knows nothing about customer service! Here's why....Instead of DEESCALATING the situation, she chose to ESCALATE the situation and argue with a paying customer?!? If she had a clue, what she should have done when she saw me walking around the guy ahead of me and showed her my ID was say, " I'm sorry for the wait, let me go ahead and check you in, thank you, have a good work out" That is customer service 101... Was that so hard??? Instead she chose to argue AND escalate the situation with the customer. I will be cancelling my membership and I am going give Ms. Shana all the credit as my reason for doing so. If you think my bad experience is a 1 time incident here, think again!...go ahead and check out the other reviews here about this gym's customer service, as well as on YELP. It REALLY, REALLY is bad here at LA Fitness..... Scroll down a few reviews to Maria S and you will see that staff members DO put the scanner out for gym members, and Ms. Shana is either clueless or a liar?...
Read moreWas just harassed and kicked out of this la fitness by Chris Toussaint. He claimed to be a manager and accused my friend if I of conducting training while working out. He initial approached and explain he is obligated to say something if he believes people are training. While admittedly I was a little annoyed that 2 people working out together was considered personal training, I responded with "no we aren't" and continued my workout. He sat and just stared at us for a bit attempting to intimidate my friend and I. Finally he started to walk away and with back turned said, "don't let t happen again". At this point I was very annoyed by his lack of unprofessionalism. There were multiple people around us working out in pairs and he did not approach any of them. I asked him "do what again?" He replied "this." Which I replied, " we aren't allowed to workout together?" Mr. Toussaint repeatedly kept telling us he has to come up and say that. Which I told him I was fine with, but the fact he kept accusing us of training. Mr. Toussaint was yelling and making a scene in front of multiple members, which I felt was uncalled for. He then told us we would have to leave or he would call the police. At no time did we do anything that warranted the police being called. When he ask us to leave we complied and began to pick up or stuff. I asked to speak to the manager and Mr. Toussaint cockily replied that he was the manager. We got to the front counter where he asked for my friends ID cards. I told him I was on a guest pass that's why we were working out together. Mr. Toussaint was still ride and sarcastic towards me even making a threat that his professionalism would change because I threw my guest pass on the counter and he claimed I was throwing it at him. The 2 gentlemen at the counter both seemed confused about what was going on. So @lafitness I totally understand not wanting people to not utilize your personal trainers, but 2 people working out together is against rules? There was no customer service aspect to Mr. Toussaint. He started rude and abrasive from the beginning. I would like some sort of reply or answer to this. Not only did your employee embarrass my friend and I in front of members he did not treat us with...
Read moreAt first I didn't like this location a couple years ago but now that Irita is the Operations Manager, a lot has changed for the better. She's always in a good mood. Even when I'm not in a good mood, she is and just from her saying hi, good morning enjoy your workout..brightens up my day a little. Since I'm a regular and most of the staff who stick around know me by name, I've grown attached to this loaction, I enjoy my work outs, and I feel quite pleased with the operation here. The only thing that will forever irritate me about LA FITNESS in general are the Kids Club hours. .craziest thing ever...whybrid would you limit the kids club hours to certain times when children are always going to be an issue no matter what time of the day it is. Yes you get a lot of foot traffic at certain times but that's probably more of the single people who don't have children. We mothers need to get our work out in whenever we can and not be limited to it. What's the harm is paying a person for a few more hours in the day to allow people more flexibility to do what they need to do? Nothing...if LA Fitness is open from 6am-11pm then so should the kids club...or at least until 10pm...that's the only irritating part I hate about LA Fitness. Other than that this location in general is great..just wish they'd jeep the hair out the showers throughout the morning. If they know they'll be a bunch of girls in and out of the showers than in the morning they should have someone in and out of the showers cleaning up hair...really the girls need to clean up their own hair but because they offer showers they have to keep them well maintained and I don't want to step in folks hair when I enter a shower. One more thing...someone should be cleaning the water fountains as well as the weights off regularly. I don't want to drink and see yellow and red stuff on the fountain nor touch built up dirt on the weights...that's all. Otherwise I love...
