Absolute hell if you are an introvert.
Don't come here if you're hoping for a typical museum experience. It's not a place where you can quietly enjoy each exhibit on your own time. Instead it's social media click bait. My bad for not realizing it sooner. It's a really cool museum and I wish I had gotten to enjoy it. I really really really wanted to but since it's more for posts and likes than enjoying the exhibits I couldn't.
While checking it the explanation was that employees were around the museum in certain places to help in case you needed it. That gave me the impression that unless you asked you'd be left alone. That was not my experience. Employees do not wait for you to approach them instead they get in your face and direct you. They don't let you discover anything on your own and get to play around instead they tell you what to do for the best photos.
I couldn't really enjoy anything in the museum because as soon as I stopped or showed slight interest an employee would immediately be on me. I understand it is their jobs and everyone did it really well, but as someone who wasnt there for a photo op it ruined the experience for me.
I wish this place did different colored wristbands or something that distinguishes those who want to be left alone and those that don't.
If you want to go to a place to get likes go here. If you want to enjoy the exhibits try...
Read moreI visited the Museum of Illusions at the Mall of America and had a pretty fun time! It's definitely one of those places where your camera is your best friendâthere are tons of cool photo ops and optical illusions that will make you laugh and scratch your head. Some of the illusions are things you've probably seen online, so if you're someone who spends a lot of time on TikTok or Instagram, it might not feel super new. Still, seeing them in person is a different experience and definitely more engaging.
It wasnât too busy when I went, which was actually great because I had the chance to take my time, enjoy the exhibits, and not feel rushed. That said, I do wish there was a bit more to do. The space isnât very big, and it took less than an hour to go through everything. For the price, I expected a few more interactive elements or unique illusions.
Overall, Iâd recommend it if you're already at the Mall of America and want to do something a little differentâespecially with friends or family. Itâs a good spot to laugh, take creative pictures, and see some reality-bending visuals. Just go in knowing itâs a short experience and maybe plan something else afterward to make the most...
Read moreIt's a great family activity at the mall. We spent 2+ hours having fun with the illusions but it can be completed in less than 35 mins but you might not take a close look to all what the museum has to offer. The staff is amazing and they help take pictures! They have lockers and I loved the Illusion Room at the end. I am sure we'll return because 2 hours was not enough to do the escape puzzle at the exit. We enjoyed this museum a lot. Some side effects: lots of fun and cool memories. I preferred this than roller coasters. But for people that are sensory/sensitive or might get vertigo symptoms, you might want to take your time and listen to your body, be gentle. Some illusions can have flashing lights when you are taking videos, so if you're sensitive to flashing lights be mindful of this. Some of the illusions could give you headache/ stomachache but...
