The hotel itself was clean and overall good quality. We just ran into a huge mess when the room we paid for and expected by calling the number that the website only gives you to call goes to reservation desk. The lady on there confirmed with us we would be getting a suite room. A room with two double beds and a pull out couch. When we arrived that is not what we got. The guy at the front desk was as helpful as he could be but couldn’t do anything about the way over charged price for a basic room since we didn’t book through them. Even though there was no other number to call since it goes directly to the reservation desk and we would have to work with them to get reimbursed. So we had to get charged and pay for another basic room. With that being said we were charged more than double for the two rooms. Reservation desk will not give our money difference back since we used the reservation even though what we verbally agreed too over the phone and paid for was not what we got when we got there. We only got a room with 2 double beds. And were charged almost double each night for that. All I was asking for was a refund for the difference in price from a suite room (we should have gotten, but didn’t) and the basic room we got. I would highly recommend double and triple checking what you are paying for and who you are talking to before moving forward with booking with this location. We ended up paying for two basic rooms for two nights, at a extremely high rate. The sad part is the only reason we called was because we had a business trip and were bringing our two little kids with so we brought babysitters and wanted a suite so they could all be in the same room after kids when to sleep. The business company for work was offering a special with this hotel for rooms, which would have cost the same amount as the suite we booked in the first place. So if we went with booking with our business company offer we could have got the two basic rooms at a discount price of $800. We were scammed into a room we thought would be a suite and then told we were lying since we agreed to the confirmation and couldn’t be refunded the difference. Nightly rates of the basic rooms here go anywhere from $200-$300 a night and booking.com charged us for the the basic room almost $500 a night and then we had to pay again for another room when we got there. The room stated during the confirmation phone call was that it would be two double beds and a pull out couch and we confirmed that’s what we wanted. The confirmation email sent to us was also verified on that phone call that it was correctly booked and we were told it was. We are very ashamed with the way this situation was handled and how we were blamed for their actions to overcharge for a room we...
Read moreGreat location attached to the mall. We usually stay at Radisson Blu (which is also attached) but due to recent decline in good reviews, decided to splurge for the JW since we were there celebrating a 16th birthday weekend. The hotel is beautiful, clean and well maintained. We arrived early afternoon and checked in. Our room was already ready, and Kristie and Karen made the stay extra special for us. They upgraded up to a higher floor which was amazing! Loved being away from the hustle and bustle. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The bathroom is huge with a full sized shower and separate tub. The sink area is large. The rooms are large, which is nice. We liked having the fridge to keep things cold if needed. The storage was great too. The closet even had 2 bathrobes. The beds were comfortable and plenty of pillows for us. The sheets were NOT stained or anything, they were crisp, white and fresh. The only issues we noticed, the faucet was loose but worked fine. The toilet paper holder was loose and move up and down. The glass light on the table wasn't dusted as you could see visible dust but everything else was SPOTLESS! We valeted the car, which was $34 a day but you can come and go as many times you need too, it was just easier having them valet than me doing it myself. The valet was great service and upon check out they had our vehicle waiting and warming up :) Karen and Kristie sent a birthday card along with some special chocolates to the room for my daughter and she truly enjoyed those. We didn't use the gym but it looked nice. The girls used the pool , which they enjoyed just wished the water was warmer :) The pool area was clean and there were plenty of towels. The sitting area on the 2nd floor was nice and clean as well. It was fun watching the airplanes coming and going and all the mall traffic. It was a nice way to just relax. You could even bring food from the mall and sit and eat, there was plenty of room and tables/chairs etc. I was so surprised how clean everything was. We saw staff often keeping things clean and taking care of issues that arose, they did a wonderful job. The hotel is definitely nicer than the other one. It's expensive but for us was worth it this weekend. We felt safe and truly enjoyed this birthday weekend. We also tried the chocolate cake slices one evening thru room service and it was really good! It was a great birthday treat and nice way to end of the evening. Room service kept us with fresh towels all weekend, removed our food tray the next morning and cleaned our room nicely. Thank you JW Marriott for making it a...

For Platinum Elite members, the Concierge Lounge offers an exceptional breakfast, daytime snacks and a hand-crafted hors d'oeuvre and dessert spread after 5PM on most nights. The view of downtown Minneapolis is spectacular, even from eight miles distance along with Minneapolis-Saint Paul's airport departing aircraft so close you think you may be able to pluck them straight from the sky.
The hotel features direct access to the Mall of America through either a first floor entrance which takes you through the JW's signature restaurant, Cedar and Stone, or a second floor entry which comprises the extensive meeting rooms and world-class fitness and aquatic center. Upon entering your room, you will note the silence that this recently constructed hotel provides. Heavy doors reaching the carpeted floor and thick windows will ensure that your sleep is uninterrupted until either the alarm clock provided or a personalized wake up call does.
The bathrooms in each room are second-to-none. From a glass-encased shower to modern appliances, the monotony of brushing one's teeth or drying your hair becomes a welcomed experience. Blue mood-lighting behind the bathroom mirror is an excellent addition, as one can prep for their morning without having to expose their eyes to artificial light until they are ready to do so.
Should you feel the need to leave the hotel for any reason, the hotel and mall are actually the final stop of the Blue Line Rail System, which will transport you from the ground floor of the Mall of America all the way to Target Field with convenient stops along the route.
The hotel staff is exceptionally courteous and has a tendency to make you feel more at home than you expected. With a 24 hour 'At Your Service' button on your room phone, the hotel does an excellent job of answering any questions or fulfilling requests at a moments notice. This hospitality is mirrored by the hotel restaurant staff and lobby bartenders, who very clearly take pride in making JW signature cocktails and serving the best quisine in a five mile radius. The quality and convenience that this hotel provides is simply...
