I would honestly leave zero stars if it was possible based on my experience! DINERS BEWARE!!! It you pay by credit card… pay close attention to what is charged to your account.!!! Recently, a friend, my daughter, and myself chose to have dinner at Margaritaville - Mall of America. Again, I use the word CHOSE because we could have gone to any of the restaurant options but chose to go to Margaritaville. We ordered our dinner and when it came time for our bills…my daughter and I were on one check and my friend was on her own check. My friend paid with cash and I paid for my daughter and my dinner with credit card. When the ticket came out…for the tip… I gave a cash tip in which I wrote CASH on the tip line and then wrote the dollar amount for the amount to be charged to my credit card. The next morning… I was reviewing charges made to my card and much to my surprise… not only was my card charged for my bill… I was also charged for my friends dinner…keep in mind, she paid in cash!!! Later that day, my daughter and I went back to Margaritaville and spoke to the individuals at the front desk. They were in contact with their GM and assured me that this would be handled and the charge for my friends meal would be removed from my card. As this occurred over a weekend, I gave it until that Tuesday for action to be taken. I was very surprised to see that both charges had been removed from my credit card. Then, two days later on Thursday both charges reappeared along with the cash tip amount that I am now being charged for that I left for the waitress. I have reached out now several times to management staff at the Margaritaville – Mall of America, as well as, filed a complaint with Margaritaville corporate office. All of this seems to keep falling on deaf ears. I am very disappointed that I am not getting any answers or had any follow up in regards to this matter. I don’t know that I will return to a Margaritaville establishment based on this experience! I have had to now spend a significant amount of time dealing with trying to get the situation handled with Margaritaville and I am working to dispute the charges with my credit card company. I have spent WAY too much time dealing with all of this when it simply should have been a fun evening of dining out with my daughter and friend! Again… carefully watch what gets charged to your account when dining at Margaritaville - Mall...
Read moreFirst time eating here and I was really exited to eat here and try it out. We were on MEA spring break and took my son up to the mall for a day of fun. We walked up to the host stand and there was a girl working with a long braid who I don’t think could hate her job anymore than she did. As someone who has worked in the food service industry before I know that the first few seconds is the most impressionable and man I can tell you it was for me and my family today. I walked up and I said two adults and one child and the lady just said that it would be a 30 minute wait. Honestly had zero problem with the wait we stood there against the railing and then realized that the lady never asked up for our name or nothing so we didn’t get put on the list. About 6 people at that point had gone up to her in that mean time. She didn’t ask if they would like to be put on a list she was more of telling them the long time and from the looks of her face hoping they would just leave. I finally got up to ask if she needs my name to get put on the list. She enters it in and she was hitting that computer screen so hard I thought she was going to break it. She really made it so uncomfortable and I felt like a burden for even asking. After that, we decided to go over to Crayola after we found out that they will just text us when the table is ready. We were over there for a bit and got the text that our table it almost ready. We got back over there and stood there for another 15 minutes. When the phone went off that our table was ready, I went up to the host stand and that lady again was just so grumpy. We got seated and then everything after that was okay they forgot our appetizer and we got that after our food. We got fries with one of our meals when we asked for rice with the kids menu. Both were solved and fixed really quickly. The server was awesome about it. I honestly thought the server did a really great job. The food tasted OK, but I don’t know if it was because of my bitter experience from the beginning and that impacted everything else. Especially when you pay $100 for a meal that taste better at a local bar. I’m sad to say I don’t think I’ll be visiting again. There is probably a reason the place was pretty empty when we were in but so busy that they...
Read moreMilitary member with family of 2 adults and 6 kids turned away due to having large family. Arrived to Margaritaville around 9:20’s traveling from road trip with not the best weather. Staying at the hotel on the premises of Mall of America, we saw food was open and we were tired, hungry and exhausted. When we arrived customers were eating and bar staff said they were open and that the hostess will be right back. Bar staff was nice and hostess on shift on (March 17th 2023)was nice. Waited about 10-15 minutes when that manager Desmond came out and said he couldn’t seat my family because it’s like a large group and it’s now 9:36pm and we close at 10pm. Even though I have a larger family, 2 adults and 6 little ones. It’s still a family and as a student taking corporate and social responsibility I feel that treating the people the same regardless of their appearance or family should not be a determination to being served food. Yes I know not ideal for anybody to come in within the hour, but to have to different staff members say we can eat there and make our family wait around letting more time elapse and a Manager saying it’s now 9:36 we can’t serve you anymore because kitchen is closing soon. The manager Desmond came out and overrode the hostess. When I asked to speak to the Manager he said your looking at him. Group of individuals looking at us from within the restaurant made our family feel embarrassed. Glad another restaurant located in the Mall of America saw our family and treated our family equally and fairly by letting us eat within their restaurant despite being close to closing. The big thing was wasting our time and being embarrassed when the manager came out to say they won’t be seating us after all. Just ask that we all treat people fairly and equally. Knowing if I had a smaller family I would have had service makes me a little upset because we should all take care of people despite our...
