I am a bit of a hotel snob and I'll admit it. That said, this hotel property was impressive from check-in to check-out. My husband and I stayed 3 nights. Upon check-in, we received a warm welcome and excellent customer service. The gal at the front desk recognized it was my birthday as well as being an elite rewards member. She also shared with us information on the AC Properties and the influence on the decor and food. Impressive. Our room was ready early and upon arrival. The hotel lobby and public space was very clean. Loved the modern decor throughout the hotel. Our room was very clean as well. Very comfortable and inviting. LOVE the faux-wooden floors in the room vs. traditional carpeting in hotels. Our room was the King suite that had a pull out sofa bed and King bed. The bathroom toiletries line are very nice as well, higher quality and nice fragrance.
We got to experience the breakfast which came highly recommended upon check-in. It was delicious. Small selection however everything was so flavorful and delicious. It is $15/per person but don't let the small size fool you. We enjoyed fresh sliced prosciutto, hard salami, cheese selection, nuts/granola, yogurts, delicious croissants (that we heard are flown in from Europe), quiche like dishes, as well as the coffee and juice bar. I think the only item I wished they had was oatmeal.
We noticed the property had a very nice gym and computer station however we didn't utilize either.
This hotel is conveniently located DIRECTLY across the street from the Mall of America as well as approximately 2 miles from the airport. My husband and I are already planning another trip back and will absolutely and undoubtedly book here again and this time, not rent a car. The hotel offers a free shuttle to/from the airport and you can walk right across the street to the M of A. The ONLY downfalls, there was no pool and it tends to be a bit loud just because of the airport being so close. However, I think you'll get that noise in all hotels within this area.
I'd recommend this hotel to all friends and family. They've seemed to have...
Read moreYour hotel is great for the business traveler; in spite of being directly beside the airport, the sound abatement materials are amazing. It is NOT a hotel I would recommend to a couple or family, which is a shame given the location.
The lobby bar/breakfast area is quite nice. I was unaware of any food service offered, other than breakfast. I looked. If there is room service or other meal offerings, it is not well published. The fitness room is outstanding (although the water refrigerator was continuously empty). Excellent 60" tv in the room. The bed, the most important element of a good hotel, was very comfortable and the lighting/USB/electrical outlets around the bed is helpful. The rain shower head and sliding hand-held shower head is a very nice upgrade. I have not yet stayed in a hotel with a rain shower head; definitely a differentiator.
The sliding door on the bathroom, while stylistic is not at all appropriate for bathroom privacy when more than one person is staying. It is very noisy. The room's minimalist design works for business traveler, but again, not acceptable closet/drawer space for couple. The coffee station location is absurd. Terrible chair for working at the desk. Finally, you need a mirror beside the hair dryer. The cord barely reaches across to the mirror and makes it impossible for one person to use the sink and another to be drying hair (understand it is probably set up on the far side due to code, but then you need a mirror beside it). From experience with my wife, one with a magnifying add-on and good lighting (for make-up) would also be a differentiator.
If a guest at this property may use the restaurant and pool at the TownePlace Suite across the street, front desk or someone should...
Read moreThis hotel's location can not be beat! Quick drive off interstate, ample parking in covered garage, easy access directly across the street from MOA and the light rail station to Airport and downtown Mnpls. Rooms are very clean and modern with comfortable beds, large tv, and an easy chair. Tons of lighting and counter space. The walk-in shower with overhead rain shower head was a welcoming bonus. However, with that said... I was traveling with a friend and we detected that the barn style bathroom door did not seal for bathroom privacy. While standing in the bed area of the room, one could EASILY see directly into the shower stall. How uncomfortable is that?? In addition, the water saving toilet did not flush properly. Gross. The bathroom issues were both irritating and embarrassing when traveling with another person. The lobby and lounge area is large, open and airy. Truly enjoyed the big screen tv in the lounge watching football. Server was friendly and kept checking on us. Kitchen staff provided far below average food. Steak was cold, over-cooked leather and the burger was cold and RAW. And I mean the cow was still mooing raw. Steak dinner was returned and server offered to prepare another but it was getting late so instead he took item off from our bill. We decided to eat the remainder of our meals the next day at a different, near-by hotel. Lovely spa area where you can fill a little pouch of fragrant lavender for your personal use, nice touch. Check-in and the check-out were smooth and flawless. This location would be great for business, layover, MOA, professional sporting events, shopping. Would not suggest for families or children, as there was no pool or youth friendly areas...
