Update 3/24/25:
The property has contacted me and claimed that this incident did not occur as I have stated which is another lie (remember, they were willing to give me points for my “trouble” for something that “did not occur,”) that I did not request a refund which is a lie x3 as I’ve requested it on three separate occasions, and all were denied before I ever got to speak with the manager. Just to be clear, I was never once contacted by the manager Karen (not for a lack of trying on my part when I was told she was unavailable) until after writing this review. It is obvious that these people will do absolutely anything to cover their own skin and save face. What a horrifying, unprofessional experience. I will never stay at a Marriott-affiliated hotel again as we have proof this happened.
Update 03/21/25:
This business continues to refuse a refund or even discuss the situation. I have to file a lawsuit.
They allowed a homeless man into the secure lobby who tried to panhandle my husband while he was trying to get eggs for my 1-year-old daughter. Our mom died on Valentine’s Day, so we just wanted to be left in peace.
We felt incredibly unsafe as this man hollers across the packed breakfast lobby and comes over and tries to tell my husband how he lives in Minnesota, MOA is one of his “hotspots,” etc and he just needs the $15 for breakfast that the front desk associate said he had to pay. My daughter and I were with our service dog watching from our table. The front desk associate stands there and WAITS FOR MY HUSBAND TO BUY THIS HOMELESS PERSON BREAKFAST. My husband walks away, extremely uncomfortable after the staff member turns and LEAVES HIM ALONE WITH THIS PERSON! In the end, they gave him free food anyway! (We give to the homeless very often, this person was not someone we felt comfortable giving to, not that we are obligated in any way).
So wait… let me clarify this. You allowed a homeless man to come inside your keycard secured entry building because he was having a “diabetic emergency,” did not call emergency services because he wasn’t “writhing on the floor,” and even though you aren’t a medical professional, could just “tell” he wasn’t “on drugs?” What if this person had a gun? They also refuse to refund my stay after such a horrifying experience, offering the equivalent to $18 in “points” for a $1500 stay. I would have accepted a room discount, but not after the next experience.
When I confronted the staff on checkout about the points, the manager “James” (my husbands name) with the hot pink hair, was the one who proceeded to try to convince me that this homeless person was having a “diabetic emergency.”
Ironically, I’ve been legally disabled with the social security administration since 2011. Even more ironically, I have severe hypoglycemia and nearly all of my family are diabetics. Lies, lies and more lies to get out of paying me back.
We purchased two rooms for a Thursday-Monday stay for our mom’s funeral. I will NEVER stay at a Marriott hotel again. Aside from all of this our television was broken and I had to unplug it each morning of our stay, the breakfast ran empty constantly hours before it was over, there was damage all over the walls and countertops in the rooms and the planes, which no one warns you about, are absurdly loud all day and night. Looks like it’ll be a long fight to get ALL of my money back because this is unacceptable from a supposed...
Read moreThis is a beautiful hotel with fantastic amenities in a prime location. We stayed for a weekend in a mobility accessible King Studio (Room 602). Check-in was simple using the Bonvoy app. We got a parking pass at check-in to place on the dash and accessible parking was available near the entrance and in the ramp. You know that first impression when you walk into a hotel? A+ here. What a beautiful, comfortable lobby that actually makes you want to hang out.
Our room was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was set up perfectly for wheelchair access with a roll-under sink and nearly everything within reach while seated. It was also fully stocked. There was an awesome little table near the chair that my wheelchair could roll right up to and under (this is rare!) I used it not only as a lap table on the chair, but also to eat when we got take-out from the nearby pizza place. All lights, the thermostat, and the blinds had seated reach controls. The bed was a perfect height for transferring, had room underneath for a hoyer lift and was incredibly soft. The floor was entirely rollable with 1/2 of the room being linoleum and 1/2 being tight weave carpet. Perfect!
The bathroom was large with plenty of room to maneuver a wheelchair. The sink was a roll-under with easy to reach controls. The lights were motion activated if you left the switches on. The toilet was a bit too high for me. It did have plenty of room next to it for a side transfer. The transfer shower was just "ok." It was set up properly but getting the right temperature was difficult as right when I'd get to the warmth I wanted it would shut off. That got annoying. I also couldn't use both shower heads at the same time which I like to do to relax (also annoying). The provided soap and "conditioning shampoo" don't smell good so I suggest you bring your own if you like pleasant scented shower soaps and separate shampoo and conditioner vs all in one. The water stayed in the shower which was excellent. All in all, not the best bathroom, not the worst.
Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. There were plenty of different foods to choose from. Even freshly made pancakes were available. There was hot oatmeal, cold cereals, muffins, yogurts, fruit, eggs, sausage, churros, waffles, toast, and more. Fresh juices and coffee were also available. Nothing was empty at any time we went down for breakfast which was really nice to see.
We didn't use the pool but did look in and there was a handicap lift for both the main pool and the hot tub which was great to see.
We'll definitely recommend this hotel to...
Read moreThis hotel is average at best. The best I can say is, it isn't what I was anticipating or expecting at all.. and would definitely recommend that if interested in a hotel that is more family focused, to seek other options within the area that may be better suited for exactly that.
The room was much smaller than I had anticipated, and the breakfast was very targeted at businessman or woman. They had wrapped bagels, toast, bananas, and then cereals like cheerios and raisin brain. They had two options for hot breakfast, and not much for the kiddos or myself to enjoy to be fruitfully honest.
The pool was fairly small, and the hot tub was Luke warm at best. The jets also were not working at the time of my stay which was just this last week in April 2023 which was kind of a bummer.
The things they offer inside the room like a TV, a security latch, free wifi, and also free parking for the hotel as a whole is great-but overall it doesnt make up for the lack of the other things.
The bed was comfortable overall, but there is an essence of noise that you can hear in your room. Doors shutting, people talking etc. So if you seek a lot of quiet, this place probably wouldn't be ideal.
I did speak to the front desk and email them about the noisiness and unhappiness with the stay and they never responded to my email and the best they did for helping my dissatisfaction was offering points for my marriot account, and then the second day in they told me they called the room phone to offer Me a room upstairs that was quieter, but who checks those phones? Truthfully?
A call to my cell, an email, or even a note on the door would have been much more effective overall, so I didn't get a room upgrade and I got a mere credit of $10 for my Marriott account. Not a great resolution for an unhappy customer.
For a positive, It is very close to mall of america and other local places such as restaurants and things which is great!
But overall I did feel the target audience was mostly business man or woman who are seeking something minimal, At a very high priced rate.
I simply wasn't satisfied staying here for vacation and honestly do wish I would have done more research on it prior to, but would suggest it for business man or woman who seek something small and conveniently located, because I do feel it is perfect for that.
If your a family with Littles though, seek elsewhere. Save money and find a place that is more revolved around families and those of all backgrounds and more diversity overall. Because this place really didn't have...
