Do not buy booster packs from this location. I wrote most of this and then read other comments and am 100% sure now.
Do not buy trading cards here
I picked up 17 packs and watched the employee sort my packs before he gave them to me even tho I asked for the packs off the top like they come out of the box. I should have bought the whole booster box when I realized he was sorting but decided to not jump the gun. 17 yugioh packs later and 1 ultra rare. I am very disappointed after trying a new location and would hope this does not happen again. I don't know if this was cherry picking or what the plan was exactly but I sure wouldn't want my kids buying packs when their pull rates get turned into a crane game.
For reference I open close to 100 packs a week it is very obvious when you do not hit standard pull rates for a booster box.
Sorry for the rant I just remember being a kid and how hard it was to pull cards. It doesn't need to be harder. Will not be buying yugioh here again.
For anyone who knows yugioh I got the last 9 packs out of a grand creators and 8 out of the next sealed box. Watched the guy sort the 8 out of the next box. 1 ultra rare total. My fault for not buying a sealed box but extremly shady business practice and I will be...
Read moreIf you love board gaming, you came to the right place. I've only visited the Games by James at the Mall of America, so this is the one I'm reviewing here. Not the largest store, but solidly packed with whatever you need to satisfy those nerd cravings. In a fantastic location, visible from multiple floors, with an enticing window display and inviting wide open entryway, they totally nailed the layout. Despite the compact nature of this beast, traffic flow is excellent, with the service desk exactly where it should be. I don't really have any criticisms whatsoever. Even the pricing is what you would expect, given the general expense of not only the product, but where this particular store is located. My wife certainly fears the worst whenever I go here, which is practically every time I visit the Mall of America. I only fall short of giving a five star review in comparison, because I am so very fortunate to have The Gamers Den (Cambridge) in my area, a far bigger store in terms of floor space, independantly owned by wonderful folks who truly love the hobby and genuinely appreciate their community of customers. So, if you're reading this review, I absolutely recommend you check them out...
Read moreNot a review related to the business. I went to the Mall of America to take my girlfriend shopping for the day. She had just put down her childhood dog. I wanted to get her out of the house to distract her from life.
I had went to the restroom as soon as I got to the mall. I had a freak accident where I cut myself on a piece of metal by the air dryers. My hand was gushing blood and I had access to no paper towel.
One of your employee’s was in the restroom and offered me to come to the store to get gauze and bandaids. The bleeding didn’t stop, but thankfully this held me over while I was able to be seen by the urgent care in the mall. I received a few stitches for my wound.
His small act of kindness made an impact on my day and his care to make sure I got help. I will now support your business and give recommendations as I see fit.
I owe whoever that was a thank you! Keep being a good human and your help was greatly...
