This was more fun than I expected, and totally worth it for a special occasion.
The only drawbacks were the price (expensive for a family) and that the staff are young and still working on customer service skills (perhaps a pay raise and some team training would bolster their enthusiasm 😜), but still helpful and friendly! Those were minor drawbacks compared to the great experience overall.
A few questions I had going in, and their answers:
Is an hour long enough? How is it counted? Yes, a hour is good! They don't start counting until you hit "Start" on your first game, so take your time to explore before beginning your time. Once you do, the timer doesn't stop. There are several rooms to choose from, and you exit the room into the open space after each game. We didn't spend much time at all waiting for other players, during a medium busy Saturday afternoon. The games consist of levels that take no more than a few minutes, and you can choose whether to continue to the next level, or exit to try something else. So we got in about 10-12 games in an hour, and were sufficiently exhausted by the end. 90 minutes would be great if you have the time & money - our group was by no means particularly athletic, so if we could do 90 minutes, you could too. But we were not disappointed with an hour.
Can a 6-year-old kid really play these games? Depends. Our 6-year-old is taller than average, and obviously one of the smartest 6-year-olds in the planet 😉 And she thoroughly enjoyed and was able to participate in every game with varying amounts of help (we only played the cooperative games, not the competitive ones). In some harder cases, once you understand a game, you can come up with a good role for the younger player(s), and of course repetition of the same game made it easier for her (and for us!!)
You do get a locker to put your bags/keys/stuff in, which is great, because the games can get very active!
The whole place was clean, with no noticeable smell outside of the laser room which has a fog machine. The game selection system was easy to use, instructions were audible, relatively simple (with a couple exceptions) and overall, more fun than we...
Read moreAmazing fun! This place has a bunch of different co-op or player-versus-player games. As you might have seen from the website all of the games are lit in this RGB on black paint type of aesthetic--think like a laser tag arena. Each game has a "mechanic" such as a light up floor of pressure sensitive tiles, a room full of LED buttons, a gauntlet-style laser grid, or a human-size game controller just to name a few. If you want a good cardio workout (or want to tire out your kids-- I see you parents 😉) there are plenty of running and jumping game modes that will have you (or had ME at least) soaked in sweat. There are also a few games that are less physically strenuous, and the easier difficulties on the games make many of the games VERY approachable to younger children or folks with who aren't looking to pull or sprain something. The staff were helpful and friendly, the games were engaging, the wait times for games were either short or totally nonexistent, and overall the atmosphere and vibes were spot on, if a bit cheesy (but I like cheese 😋 and it was tasteful 😤) I highly recommend dropping by these guys for a session. They're quite affordable, a great way to spend an afternoon, and worth keeping in business. More worth it than an arcade...
Read moreTook my 10yo niece for a post NUniverse activity- what a great find! We had so much fun and I've been recommending to all. Went on a Friday afternoon 3pm-ish, it wasn't too crowded and we didn't have to wait more than a minute to enter any of the game rooms. Staff was amazing. They were friendly, described the entire process, how to use the wristbands and how play the games. It's definitely an active experience there is some darting across the floor and crawling and jumping over lasers. I would book a 60min visit which is more than enough to try out each game and repeat favorites. I think this would be good for kids 8 and up and also be a great activity for adults too. Highly recommend. We...
