Long story short- order the Guay Tiaw Noodle Soup. It’s the best.
I have avoided rating this place up to now, because despite my effort, I am usually disappointed. Compared to most this place is dry and flavorless with too many dishes. Ordered medium spice on fried rice and various noodle dishes- and all I could taste was the spice without flavor. Maybe it’s a low sodium thing, but personal opinion - I should not have to put excessive soy sauce to get food to be flavorful and less dry. However I love the staff and this is the only Thai food on door dash so they kept me as a customer and I kept them a mediocre option. Until one day I tried the Guay Tiaw medium spice and I was so impressed with it. Medium packs a punch but at the time I was sick and loved the burn. It’s flavorful and filling and although I prefer my toppings separate for takeout, it’s just so yummy I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s the one dish that brings them up from a three star establishment IMO. Also- this is not a great location for atmosphere, that’s not the restaurants fault...
Read moreI am so glad I found this thai place. It's located in downtown durango by the train station. I would say it is a small little hole in the wall kind of restaurant. It's a very compact area with minimal seating. It does have an outdoor area to sit and eat. Most people that came in there ordered orders to go, or they sat outside. The food that I ordered was delicious. Everything was hot and was spiced to perfection. I had asked for minimal spice, and that's exactly what I got. It's just enough spice to give it a zing, but not enough to burn my tongue off! The girl who took my order was also the one who brought me my food. She was very pleasant and welcoming and did not rush me through to make me feel like as if I had to hurry and order. I found the portion sizes to be quite large. This is definitely a place where you could share or like I did, bring the rest...
Read moreIn Durango for the train ride and chose this place because it was not a typical burger/bar joint. It’s a small place with only a few seats, so it’s probably made more for carry out. I ordered Massaman Curry - no onion. My husband ordered Pad Thai. My curry was completely without any seasoning at all. I had ordered mild, but had no idea that not even salt was included. Every Thai restaurant have ever eaten in has a little spice even with mild seasoning. The chicken was tender, but also tasteless. My husband’s Pad Thai was flavorful, although pretty soupy. But the chicken was tough and chewy. I was pretty disappointed but it makes me appreciate my local Thai restaurant. The gal at the counter was very sweet and gave excellent service. Just really did not...
