If I could give a negative rating, I would. Our visit was deeply disappointing from start to finish. I came with my husband and our 10-year-old son, and we were told there’d be a 20-minute wait to be seated. We waited patiently at the bar, right in front of the hostess, and even ordered drinks while we waited. Despite being in plain sight, she forgot to call us—twice.
After nearly 50 minutes, we were finally seated. Then came another stretch of waiting: 15 minutes passed and no server approached us. We had to ask someone just to place our order. Still, no food arrived even after another 20 minutes. By this point, I had already stepped out twice to feed the parking meter.
We were told the manager would come speak with us “ASAP.” That didn’t happen. I had to follow up again with the hostess to request the manager’s attention. When he finally did engage, his behavior was shockingly rude and dismissive—cruel, even. The manager’s very first comment was that we were “lucky” to have been seated—an astonishingly tone-deaf remark given the circumstances. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the delay, and certainly no intention to investigate what went wrong. He claimed he’d never received a complaint before, which felt more like deflection than truth. His attitude suggested that having us in his restaurant was a favor, not a service.
He then referenced a “45-minute turnaround,” clearly misunderstanding the term. A proper turnaround includes being seated, served, having time to eat, pay, and leave. We were there for over an hour and twenty minutes and had to chase down every bit of service ourselves.
His behavior was so rude and dismissive that we ultimately left without eating. Shockingly, as we were leaving, he shouted that he would “take care of the order”—despite the fact that we had already closed our tab at the bar and tipped generously, as instructed by the hostess before being seated. It became clear that even he wasn’t aware of his own restaurant’s policies, yet he still tried to make us look like the ones at fault.
When I asked the hostess to clarify that she had made a mistake causing the inroads delay, she looked visibly frightened and just nodded repeatedly. It was heartbreaking to witness. This manager not only mistreats customers but seems to intimidate his own staff. Whether his behavior was due to arrogance, ignorance, or just plain drinking on job.
This experience was not just poor—it was...
Read moreI have been to Gettusburg more times than I can count being a resident of Central Pennsylvania but today was the first time ever eating at this establishment after my girlfriend looked up eating establisments prior to the visit. I will say that we were not disappointed with the food. If you're a fan of soft pretzels and crab dip then order the crab dip soft pretzel. It is a massive, 12 inch (or bigger) soft pretzel covered with a delicious, hot, gooey, cheesy crab dip. It is essentially an appetizer but due to the size, two people could literally make a meal out of it. The fried pickle chips were the best I have found so far. Thin, crispy, not too greasy that have a hint of zing to them. They come with two dips, ranch and a Cajun dip which has a kick for sure.
The burger ordered was the John Buford. Huge is an understatement that was accompanied by sweet potato waffle fries. While the burger was good, unless you're a true fan of blue cheese, order a different burger. The blue cheese, which we love blue cheese dressing, has plain blue cheese crumbles mixed in with the mayo and the blue cheese was too overwhelming for our taste. So, for an avid blue cheese lover, this would be a great pick.
Lastly my dish, the Blue and Grey wings. Choices of six or a dozen with several levels of "heat" to choose from. I attempted to order the hottest being the "Gettysburg Ghost" but the server was honest and advised they do not seem as hot and the flavor has been off. Instead she suggested the "Devils Den" level. Damm!! The start with a mild zing and suddenly the heat kicks in. I only had four due to having the aforementioned pretzel and pickle chips. Had I not eaten some of the "appetizers" I probably would have had six or more but my fingers, mouth and lips were ON FIRE!! Definitely some of the best wings I have ever had both taste and heat.
The establishment is busy and there is a wait. We sat outside for about 25 to 30 minutes before they called our phone to get us seated but so worth the wait. The service is fast, servers friendly and for the amount of food the cost was less than I expected. We will definitely eat here again...
Read moreUpdated review 5/27/25: Updating my original review and removing 2 stars - I ordered takeout today for a get together I was having. Unfortunately I didnt check over the receipt/pricing when I picked up the food and went to pay. I paid more for every single item than what was listed on their online menu! Pulled pork sandwich - online menu $9.99, paid $11.99. Buford burger - online menu $12.99, paid $14.99. Southwest chicken rice bowl - online menu $16.99, paid $23.99... $7 more than the price listed! Ridiculous! Update your menu prices! I understand that the economy has changed since I wrote my original review and prices go up at places, but without updated menu prices, I had no idea until after I already paid and left the establishment. I included a photo of my receipt and specifically the southwest chicken rice bowl as this was the meal I specifially ordered. The friend I was hosting had to pay more than planned for her meal. I will no longer recommend this restaurant to people. False advertising and ripping people off!
Original review from 4 years ago: Delicious food and reasonably priced! I've had several of the burgers and all but one have been cooked to the internal temperature of my request. The southwest chicken and rice bowl is also good but was way too hot/spicy with too many jalapenos the last time I got it. You can tell there are different cooks as the food is prepared different ways sometimes instead of consistent each time. It's usually pretty busy with a wait time due to being in the center of town. Takeout during COVID has been good but the burgers make the bottom bun super soggy. It can also be challgening to get through to them on the phone despite 2 number. I tried to call over 10 times over the weekend till I could get though and then was immediately told to hold. Eight minutes later no one picked up the call, and I decided to get takeout elsewhere. When you can get through or dine in, I do recommended the Philly...
