My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary when we came to Gettysburg! We were torn between this Italian restaurant and The Dobbin house and we eventually went with this place. We were swayed due to very convincing reviews including photos that showed even better looking photo to go along with it! When we arrived we were met with a really appealing atmosphere, greeted by someone immediately upon walking in the door and then greeted by a really sweet bubbly waitress who was very thorough, pleasant, knowledgeable of the dishes, and just very good service and then the food each food item we ordered was better then the next from the bread they give you to start, from the calamari we got for the appetizer, to the salads that came with our meals and our entrees we got both the lobster ravioli and shrimp pompadori spicy EVERYTHING was absolutely nothing short of AMAZING! We will most definitely recommend this place to others and come back again sometime when in the area!
Update; we came back here last night because we both had a date night and decided we wanted to go back for the experience and food and were looking forward to it! Unfortunately the server really plays a role in the experience over all and this time ours was not very personable, attentive, engaging, or even thorough as our bread and salad came late, our drinks didn’t get refilled as they should and our server barely interacted with us the way the last young lady did and we were soo disappointed that we didn’t have her. We were put off to the side by ourselves while everyone else was in the main dining area. The food was good which did make me happy however I was very bummed because I did leave there feeling as though I wasn’t as excited to come back as I was prior to this time. We will still come back once more and give it a shot but I hope next time we can get the waitress we had, we can’t remember if her name was Sophie or something similar but she was just very good at her job and very personable. We weren’t sure if the gentleman we had was training or new but the experience overall just wasn’t the same and we felt as though we were skipped over more and barely even given what we needed. Thank you for yummy...
Read moreSHOULD LABELLAS HAVE THEIR OWN EPISODE OF AMERICAN GREED? As a regular customer and I mean with great regularity let's say between $400-$600/month. I have never had a problem with anyone and we would chat, small talk on the regular and had mutual respect. That being said, they forgot one of the three subs I had ordered along with two Lg pizzas and an order of wings so I called to let them know. No conflict or exchange of ill will, I just did what anyone would do or so I thought. So, a few days pass and I went in and ordered my favorite sub that they forgot last time and a cheese steak special for a friend. I paid my tab and got my receipt at 2:53pm (all receipts are time stamped) as in most restaurants. So I am sitting waiting for my subs that I had just paid for and I thought, I'm gonna get some wings to (time stamped 3:04pm). A few minutes pass and here come the wings and out comes the card for payment and as I am signing my receipt and I notice that i am being charged just a smidge under $28.00 for a dozen wings (no blue cheese or celery) so I asked why the menu says $13.59. Their response was well the first receipt was for the wings that I ordered at 3:04 but paid for at 2:53. Are you confused yet? I sure was but I kept my cool and civilized as I know these people and someone just made a mistake. That was not the case. I was told I payed for my wings 11 minutes before I even knew I was going to order them and then I was charged nearly $28.00 when I got my wings and was told well that was for the subs. So in the end they got me! A long term regular customer ripped off for approximately $40 on food I never received if you include the 25% tip i left the night they forgot my sub. This is take out food here folks. It's a shame that GREED ended a long and great relationship with these folks. I am God Smacked to say the least. Moral of the story is, check ypu receipts with a fine tooth comb as you...
Read moreI went to La Bella Italia today with my wife, and we were both sorely disappointed. The server did not bring us silverware upon seating us, and did not introduce himself. He popped around the corner and simply said, “any drinks?”. We asked for water and lemon. He forgot the lemons. He then disappeared for a lengthy amount of time. We finally decided on ordering our food, which was very pricey. We ordered the chicken Marsala and the trio of pasta- and we both got the Caesar salad.
The salad was sad, and was not pre dressed. They gave us bread and a spiced oil at the same time- the oil mix was inedible, tasting like taking a spoonful of dried Italian seasoning. The food came, and was atrocious. The pasta is frozen and microwaved, I can only presume. The red sauce tastes like prego or ragù with lots of sugar added- immediate heartburn. The Marsala sauce was like sugar, it was disgustingly sweet. All of the pasta was soft and mushy, except for the lobster ravioli, which was chewy like it had been microwaved. The lobster ravioli also tasted as if the lobster had gone bad, the smell was extremely pungent and fishy. Our service was slow and ineffective, and we asked for our food to be comped as we did not eat more than two mouthfuls. He took 15 minutes to return to our table. It was embarrassing.
I hope that if this restaurant wants to stay open that they up their game- there is better Italian at...
