A Step Above In Every Way: There are certain quality expectations we have when staying at a bed & breakfast. We found that the Keystone Inn Bed & Breakfast not only met each expectation, they exceeded them.
CLEANLINESS: One of our top criteria. Immaculate, everywhere. ROOM: We stayed in the first floor General Meade Room. It was directly off the main common room but very quiet. The room was spacious. The bed mattress was comfortable and the linens were super soft. We were pleasantly surprised to find that there was a multi-speed ceiling fan as well as individual air conditioning. Lighting was excellent: plenty of options from bright to romantic.
LOCATION: The inn is in a pleasant neighborhood location. Most popular attractions, restaurants, historic district, Lincoln Square, etc. are a 5-minute drive or a 15-20-minute walk. It is a 7-8-minute drive to the National Military Park Visitor Center.
HOSPITALITY: We felt so at ease from the moment that we arrived. One of the owners offered a warm welcome and familiarized us with the inn and our room. The staff felt like old friends. They provided a perfect balance of hospitality and privacy. It was also a delight that every afternoon there was a container of fresh-baked cookies with our room name on it awaiting us!
BREAKFAST: Delicious, top quality and memorable. Much of the food was locally-sourced and it was evident in the freshness, taste and quality. We woke up anticipating their luscious locally-roasted coffee. We also appreciated the choice of seating times.
COMMON AREAS: The three common areas on the first floor were lovely and provided space for guests to gather.
OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT: Beautiful! There was outdoor seating, lovely trees and landscape, and birds and squirrels. We were here the first weekend in November as the leaves were falling. It must be downright gorgeous in the spring and summer.
EXTRAS: We loved their system of communicating by text to remind us of our reservation, get information on arrival time and other details, etc. We were able to keep them updated on our estimated arrival time as we travelled without having to interrupt our activities along the way. Great system!
RATES: We thought that the rates were reasonable and offered a good value, especially considering the quality, hospitality, and location.
ACCESSIBILITY: Accessibility was far better than most B&Bs we have visited. The parking lot was chunky stone, not pavement; that was difficult to navigate with my wide rollator (walker with a seat), but then it was smooth sailing with a level walkway of pavers to a ramp into the inn. The entrance door and doorways on the first floor were wide enough to accommodate my wide rollator. I believe that a wheelchair or moderate width scooter could do the same. The only limitations I experienced inside were that the doorway from the bedroom to the bathroom was not quite wide enough for my wide rollator (it would have been fine for a regular size rollator or walker), and the toilet was quite low and there wasn’t a grab bar on the wall beside it. Overall, however, I felt that the inn accommodated my...

Read moreWe were initially interested in booking Hotel Gettysburg since it looks historic on the outside and is located in the center of town, but like many places, the rooms are modernized to look like a typical Hilton hotel room (boring & not our style). We wanted something with more character and charm.||The Keystone Inn Bed and Breakfast on the National Registry of Historic Places was built in 1913 by Clayton Reaser, a furniture manufacturer, to house his wife and 7 children. It was opened as a bed and breakfast in 1987. Mr. Reaser was one of Gettysburg's most successful, well-respected men, a compassionate conservative, and a leader in his church who devoted his life to helping others.|| The 8 guest rooms are named after famous figures of the Civil War. We stayed in the Reaser Room, and there’s actually an old photo of Clayton and his wife, Annie Reaser on the wall (super cool). Apparently some of the furniture in the room are original to the house. ❤️||We absolutely enjoyed our time at the Keystone Inn. It’s such a beautiful place in an excellent location. We walked to the town center daily. It is well maintained, clean, and just absolutely stunning; it brings you back in time. 🥰 The manager, Carrie is super nice, accommodating, and extremely efficient. She made us feel at home. Her (impressive) daily breakfasts are tailored to each guest’s needs. Every night we returned to our B & B to find freshly baked cookies from their on-site...
