Stayed in the Lincoln suite, so this review is specific to that experience.
INCREDIBLE. The bedroom is larger than my room at home! It felt like a proper apartment - upon entry, a kitchen area with countertop table and stools; the room also has a sofa, television, and desk. The kitchen area had a small sink, mini refrigerator, microwave, Nespresso machine, etc.; the only appliance it does not have is a stovetop, but we had anticipated as much.
Countertop table was set with plates, silverware, and linen napkins; these were swapped out daily. A bowl of pastries and fruit were refilled as well, and my request for more half and half creamers was granted promptly.
Through a set of double doors is the bedroom, graciously appointed with a king bed, sofa, dresser, clothes rack, and television. The bedroom and kitchen/living room have their own thermostat and the large ceiling fan in the bedroom ensured a very comfortable ambient temperature. We stayed in November and kept the room a little warmer during the day and a bit cooler at night.
The bed was quite comfortable and we slept well. If these great spaces weren't enough, the bathroom was unbelievable - off of the bedroom, the bath has a sink, huge soaking tub with air jets, and large walk-in shower. The floor tiles are HEATED - our late November visit was the perfect occasion for such a luxury.
Separate from the bath is a second space with toilet and sink.
The hotel does not have a check-in area as one might expect with larger hotels/chains, but instructions on entry, check-out, etc., were easy to follow. The hallways are narrow but given the age of the building, this was not a surprise.
If I had to name one detractor, I'd note that the noise from the alley out back (where the parking lot sits) was distracting at times. We'd wondered why there were ear plugs in the generous basket of toiletries in the bathroom - we found out pretty quickly. I always travel with a sound machine, so again, sleep was not an issue.
Cleanliness - Excellent Value - Excellent Ambiance - Excellent, save for the exterior noise Location - Unbeatable, as the center square is a two-minute walk away
We plan to return and would happily stay in the Lincoln...
Read moreThe hotel is a bit different in that it seems to operate like a B&B - no desk staff after 8pm, and in the am at check-out. The included parking is off of the alley behind the hotel, fairly common for Gettysburg. The location of the hotel is good, however a room at the front may have a bit of street noise as it is on a very busy street. We stayed in the Lincoln Suite, which is roomy and attractive. Decorated in a eclectic style, it leans a bit towards minimalistic, but is quite comfortable. The room could benefit from a pouf ottoman to rest your feet on after a long day exploring. I did not find any drinks coasters. The area rug in the bedroom was a problem for us - it is easy to trip on as it does slip around and wrinkle up. If you have mobility issues, do be cautious. ||Was our room noisy? It is towards the rear, so street noise was not much of an issue. Interior noise from guests was a bit. While common in hotels of all types, it is more so in older buildings. I believe the person above us got in their 10k steps while we watched an episode of Moonshiners. Hallway doors slammed LOUDLY often. Day 2 there was a bit of construction outside of our window ? at 6:58AM. Power saw, hammering, drilling - stopped after about 2 hours. We loved the train though!||For the (even off-season) room rate I was surprised that they do not provide robes, and that the provided guest toiletries (Beekman) are not a bit more upscale, nor are they replenished. The shampoo & conditioner are in super hard, small plastic bottles, so it’s difficult work to get the product out. There was not a shower cap or vanity kit, and I don't know if they could be requested. The tub and shower were both very nice, and we enjoyed them. Please consider providing more than 2 towels.||Sadly, we did not enjoy the food items or canned juice left for breakfast! :( I will not say more than that. There are some good restaurants in easy walking distance. It is a nice hotel, and comfortable. Good parking, and in a...
