Wildflower Beauty + Brows — Attraction in Long Beach

Conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Long Beach, among some of the most heavy-pouring, unique bars I've had the pleasure of getting inebriated in, resides Wildflower Beauty & Brows. Aptly named Wildflower as the Owner and Arteeest, Rachelle seems to exude wildflower vibes herself in the best possible way. Also aptly named because this place of business creates beauty in the middle of a concrete jungle. Your significant others can fill their time whilst waiting for you at the myriad of eclectic restaurants, shops and bars literally just steps away.

Every one of her services have been well thought out and it shows. She provides bespoke and luxurious experiences without feeling the pretentiousness of the foo-foo, la-la places you find elsewhere. The things about my experience that stood out were:

*The amount of care she provides in just the application process! To ensure your comfort, she even requests the type of music you prefer so that she can play it for you during your appointment. This provided a calming atmosphere and complimented the plant-laden ambiance she created in her dope shop.

*She was super responsive with my questions and concerns prior to the appointments and her vetting process ensures that your outcome is it's absolute possible best.

*Rachelle made sure to ask for my input throughout the whole procedure. She consistently provided me with a mirror so I could view the progress she was making and asked if I needed any adjustments. (This significantly reassured me particularly because I had such a poor experience from the last person that microbladed my brows.)

*I received a care kit and instructions with the most glorious smelling foaming cleansing liquid and healing balm after her magical hands created my natural-looking "on fleek" eyebrows. (is "on fleek" still a thing in 2023?)

Getting my brows microbladed by Rachelle is hands down one of the best beauty decisions I have ever made! Ever since getting my brows mircobladed and shaded I am CONSTANTLY getting compliments on my brows.

Although I am someone who doesn't wear makeup, as I have gotten older I have noticed my eyebrows have been thinning. Since I didn't want to fill in my brows every day, microblading seemed like the next logical step and so the hunt began for the right artist. I knew I didn't want an overly done looking brow or something to make up like, natural was the name of the game I was looking for and WOW! Rachelle delivered.

I think it is important to pick a brow artist that does the kind of brows YOU specifically are looking for and while it is clear Rachelle can do it all, her body work really highlighted everything I was looking for. I did a lot of research prior to my appointment and Rachelle answered all of my questions and really put me at ease.

Her studio in Long Beach is super adorable, very relaxing, and has a great vibe.

Rachelle herself is an absolute doll! So easy to talk to and incredibly knowledgable. I am honestly kinda bummed miroblading only happens once every 1-2 years lol.

A few things to remember: -Throughly read the precare, aftercare, and general information on her website before booking and after booking your appointment. I religiously stuck to these instructions and think that is why my brows healed so well. You are only cheating yourself and your final result if you don't follow them. -Rachelle is super booked, so if you take the step of booking an appointment remember the deposit is non-refundable! -Go in with an idea of what you want, bring some pictures but at the end of the day Rachelle really knows what will look best and if you go with her instincts, she won't...

My initial microblading appt was mid October. I recently went in for my 1st touch up. Excellent experience at both appts. Check out all the detailed microblading precare and aftercare info on Rachelle's website. Do not drink alcohol 24 hrs prior to appt. The salon was easy to find and her room is near the front. The room is clean, cozy and has a peaceful vibe.  She is very welcoming. We reviewed what I wanted to achieve and what would suit my face.  I was looking to keep my brows full and natural looking. I had some bald spots and sparse hairs.  She was super helpful and informative, drawing and shaping my brows before she felt they were perfect.  She would check with me before moving forward. The first thing applied is numbing cream which she leaves on for about 20-25 min. Some strokes I didn't feel, some felt like paper cuts and some slightly more painful. The pain is bearable. She then reapplied the numbing cream alternating when doing each brow. If you need more numbing just let her know, everyone's pain level is different. The retouch was less painful for me. The sound of the strokes was interesting. We finished in about 2 or so hours. Healing is a process. There are a few things you can't do right away.  No exercising, no washing the face for the first three days.  You will go through stages where the brows look a little bit too dark, but that was not a problem for me because I like dark eyebrows. There were days where I had flaking.
