Listen... take it from me who has come here twice on Fridays different times of the day. First time was Friday, November 3rd around 7pm. I brought different items for $10 each, a few things less than that pricing. A wine opener for $5, an organizer rotator circle for $3, 2 red Christmas sockings for $10, a pillow for $10. A phone holder for $10. Christmas lights for $5. My first mistake was purchasing those stockings for $10 because that FOLLOWING Tuesday there were plenty of stockings for $1/$2. But that's how you play the game. You either come Friday to get all the good things - pay $10. Not all items are $10 they could be less or HOPE that there are leftovers on Tuesday and buy it at $1/ $2. But it's a risk. Are you willing to wait? Maybe you decide you dont need it and are willing to wait. Wait it out. BUT IF YOU'RE LIKE me starting from scratch and need things to cook or maintain the home, we were unable to wait. I came here again because my partner and I moved out onto our own apartment starting from scratch. The following Saturday, November 11th we came at 12pm. We got a 16 set with plates, bowls, mugs for $24, a non slip bath mat for $3, utensils for $3, a bath mat for $5, baking trays for $10, a cutlery organizer from OXO that retails for $21 at Target. Let's say those $10 materials were still there Saturday. They would've dropped down to $7. THATS HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME. Also people have to understand these are items that got a lil scratch, or little imperfection that these big corporations can no longer sell. My utensils had dust. Big deal I used my scrub daddy to clean it and we're good to use it! When picking up the items just make sure it's functional and serves it function. If it's broken obviously don't buy it. If it's really scratched up don't buy it. Some things will break or damage BECAUSE THEY'RE under a big pile of STUFF. I'm going again on a Tuesday to see what I find for $1/$2. I will report back on my findings.
ALSO DID I MENTION I CAME ALL THE WAY FROM THE BRONX TO BROOKLYN because I knew the deals here would not be up to par with any TJ maxx Or Marshall's. YUP! Came on the train and went back home on the train! My second trip was from all the way in the Bronx. As mentioned before ... I just got a new apartment from scratch and those who know starting from scratch...
Read moreThere are no prices anywhere. All items are piled like garbage throughout the store in bins, on the floors, piled with heavy things on stuff . I asked how to know what the prices are and the cashier said everything is $12 , but then when I brought something up after sifting through the carnage she said not all things are $12 , so with so many different range of items ( clothes, lipstick, wreaths, cups ) some even with brand store labeled prices much less than the $12 on it , it was clear they just decide what they want to charge for an item at the register once you get to the register, which is kind of ridiculous, especially when it’s so obvious the people at the register just make up a price off the top of their heads . I did find two items that had a price on them for a few bucks above that price that I felt were likely worth it despite disco bing at home damages . Its blatantly obvious prices are just made up once a customer gets to the register on the 99% of items that have no plain sticker marked on it with a price . I’ve shopped in other large bin stores & have never seen anything like this. It’s the worst ! It’s the only time I’ve been there so maybe the bosses weren’t there to k ow what was going on . 🤷. I thought it was going to be as is shown Inbox store videos on the website about the store with bins having a price for items in each bin but that was NOT at all how it was throughout the entire store , as not one bin had a price on it and only a few in the back of the store ( big box or furniture items like large mirrors etc. had a handwritten price on white sticker . Stuff is strewn everywhere on the floors to be stepped on , there’s broken stuff all over too, and its a real waste of energy if every time you find an item you want , you have to go wait in line to ask how much it is, clearly seeing how all the prices are just made up on the spot by those on the register ). From what I understand that is NOT how other Inbox USA stores are ! Who ever runs this particular store in Brooklyn on 3rd ave , they should start watching their...
Read morePretty bad experience with the as advertised 70% off at unbox. Used to come here very often and the staff were super helpful. They have turned into being very profitable and check everything in terms of how much retail costs. Thought I found a deal with a waterpik retails ~$38, $10 Friday. They went and checked it saying it’s $11 b/c 70%. Meanwhile I had a children’s story book with a $12.99 retail price tag and when I asked if there was a discount for books the cashier flat out said it’s $10. Money hungry not as advertised.
Edit* 3 stars. In response to the owner asking why I’m salty over $1 and coming another day. The item was on the $10 table and not behind the counter. It was missing a piece (someone had opened the package and took 1 of the replacement heads). That is why I was appalled when the cashier rechecked the price and told me $11. It’s not even in the most pristine condition in which I had pointed it out. It’s unfortunate that bad apples have jaded the store. I thought unbox was truly helping the community with all the...
