I recently stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charleston Airport Hotel and Convention Center and had a mix of positive and challenging experiences.||||Arrival and Check-In ||Arriving late, I was pleased to find the front desk friendly and helpful. They quickly informed me about breakfast hours, the location of the elevator, and let me know I could return for a plastic room key later since they were in the middle of the night audit. Thankfully, my app worked for room access. My room was on the 7th floor and had a welcoming, spacious layout with a large living area, kitchenette, modern bathroom, and a separate bedroom.||||Room Amenities and Comfort ||The room itself was impressive, with ample seating in the living area, including a sofa (which pulls out to a bed), a kitchen-style table, and multiple convenient power outlets with USB/USB-C adapters. Notably, the plug above the table in the living room area had been upgraded to include two USB ports and one USB-C port, which was a modern convenience.||||The modern bathroom featured a cultured marble sink, though the bathtub showed signs of wear, including rust at the bottom. The bedroom featured two queen beds, a desk, and plenty of storage space. There was a TV in both the bedroom and the living room, adding extra comfort and entertainment options. Additionally, the overhead light in the bedroom was an older CFL bulb that took a long time to warm up, providing very little light initially.||||All the lamps in the room by the sofa, table, dresser/desk area in the bedroom, and bedside included USB, USB-C, and AC outlets, which I found incredibly convenient. The curtains in the bedroom worked perfectly, making the room completely pitch black if the clock is coveredâa big plus for light-sensitive sleepers. A safety note for families: the window in the bedroom opens fully, without a screen or barrier, leaving a large opening that could be risky, especially for children.||||Housekeeping and Coffee Service ||After my first night, I requested additional regular coffee pods and some creamer at the front desk as I was leaving for the day, since my room only had decaf and tea. While housekeeping promptly left a bag at my door, it contained two regular coffee pods, more decaf, and tea but no creamer. I wish the hotel would focus on items most guests use, as I doubt many drink the provided tea.||||The breakfast buffet was decent, though limited. However, the hotel only offers coffee through instant coffee machines, and no coffee is available outside of breakfast hours. When I looked for a cup around 7:00 p.m., there was none to be found. Most hotels make coffee available all day, and given the convenience of their instant machines, it wouldnât require staff involvement to provide coffee at all hours.||||Construction and Noise Issues ||The hotel is undergoing construction, a fact that wasnât mentioned during booking. My room was directly above and possibly below the construction zone, resulting in early morning wake-ups to hammering, drilling, and other loud noises. Working in the room during the day was challenging due to the continuous noise. If Iâd known about the construction and its impact, I might have reconsidered my stay or chosen a different room location.||||Amenities and Evening Reception ||Embassy Suites offers several amenities like a pool, fitness center, and a $10 per vehicle parking fee, though I was never asked about a vehicle or provided with a parking pass, so Iâm unsure if I was charged.||||Thereâs also a daily evening reception from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., but it was a disappointment. It consisted of multicolored tortilla chips, salsa, and a vegetable tray. With no beverages or coffee available, it didnât feel like a proper reception and left much to be desired.||||One staff member stood out for providing excellent customer service. During the reception, I asked an employee, who had just clocked out, if there was coffee available. She went out of her way to check, even though the machines were off, and later directed me to a nearby Starbucks as she was leaving. Her kindness and willingness to help reflected true dedication.||||Conclusion ||While the Embassy Suites offers some modern conveniences and friendly staff, the presence of construction noise, limited coffee availability, and a few modest amenities made this stay somewhat mixed. Guests may want to confirm construction details and coffee options ahead of time if these are key to their...
Read moreMe and my wife stayed here for our anniversary for the week of Labor Day. We have two bookings one from Sunday through Monday and then from Monday through Saturday so basically almost the whole week. When we got there parking was very easy and there's a lot of parking spots also considering there was a big family reunion that the hotel hosted and this was Sunday they were very very busy. We got to the hotel a little bit past 4 and we were greeted by Jonathan and another young lady at the front desk. When we checked in I initially spoke to the lady and told her about our reservation and asked if we can get upgraded to a corner room in which they stated that unfortunately the rooms were not ready yet and maybe ready for next day as I told them that we wanted a little bit of a bigger room and that was also in the notes when we booked the room. He stated that we may want to check the next day. He also asked the reason for our trip which I was happy to tell him, was our anniversary and offered to see if we liked a decorated room and some special freebies which my response was of course but the room is more important to us than anything else. So I thought they were going to do something special but none of that materialized unfortunately. They didn't even clean our rooms the next day which was okay since it was the first day. Monday as we had to check out and check right back in so we could keep our room I asked again the front desk but this time it was a different lady that manned the front desk so this time I asked if we can go ahead and get upgraded to a larger room and mind you this time almost everyone in the hotel checked out so the hotel was almost basically empty she said that there was no room ready and that she would let us know and throughout the whole week no phone call no message to let us know if the room can be upgraded or not which was not cool to me but by Wednesday I didn't want to move anymore. We have stayed in plenty of embassy suites from Florida through the Smoky mountains Georgia in this time South Carolina and this particular embassy Suites was the only one that did not give us an upgrade. And yes we are gold Hilton members. With that minor annoyance out of the way I got to say the hotel as they advertise was newly renovated and it actually is. The room was new smelled new and looked new. We tried out the restaurant and it was pretty decent food and shout out to Lisbeth for Manning the restaurant by herself on that Sunday night she was so courteous and kind and very accommodating as well. The Hispanic lady in the omelette station for breakfast was very very nice and very personable and made good omelettes on top of that so definitely shout out to her! The breakfast was ok nothing to write home about but I got to say the potatoes that they were serving is super disgusting I don't know how you can mess up potatoes that much. You all need to see the potatoes on the embassy Suites at Gatlinburg and please learn how they cook the potatoes there as that is the place to be in terms of best breakfast in an embassy suites. Also the pool is a bit chilly I was hoping that it was warm or heated at least but it was not. A hot tub will definitely benefit this hotel especially on the colder months of the year. The reception was okay as well but I got to say that the food was a little bit questionable as they had the serial dispenser which dispense goldfish mixed nuts and trail mix and can't tell how long ago those food was in there they had cheese salsa and chips to serve and that was the same thing every day. I wish that they provided a variety and switched it up every other day like on the embassy Suites in Pigeon forge and Gatlinburg. The cleaning service people were a little bit spotty and this is in terms of the cleaning in our room there were times that they made the bed but they didn't tuck in the sheets and put the pillows in an organized way they took out the dirty towels but didn't replace all of them? Will definitely stay here again to see if there are any changes and I will update this...
Read moreThis is the worst stay at Embassy when I checked in the lady at the front desk named Tawanda stated my debit card had been decline in the amount of $475.70 which I found very odd. Tawanda then stated that I had to call advance purchase and find out through them when the one who shouldâve been calling was her because she was front desk staff. Then the front desk manager (Arie) somehow fixed the issue, and it was okay. However, I still called advance purchase and was told the hotel should not charge me extra money because this was an advance purchase made in July. Once that was resolved I then finally went to my room and only to have the door coming off the hinge the door did not close right and was so heavy we couldnât open it so we advised front desk and we moved to another room. Tuesday 08/19/2025, my debit card was charged in the amount of $40.00 I then had to call my bank and close out my account because someone at this hotel was trying to use my debit card without my authorization on top of having the card decline the day before. 08/20/2025 I was on my way out for the day and advise one of the front desk staff named Ka âDaisha or Ka âDayna something like that nice girl though, that I didnât want my room to be cleaned on that day because I wanted to place my personal belongings out of the way. I wanted to have the room cleaned on 08/21/2025 at about 1:00pm she noted that in the computer and said no problem, However prior to leaving the hotel for the day my son had placed a trap in the room closet safe and put his orange that he didnât have for breakfast and stated â And I quote Iâm going to leave this orange there and I hope I see it in the same spot where I left it. I then said to him no one is going to come in the room and he stated âAnd I quote âmom Iâm just going to do itâ not knowing when I get back I find my bed fix my bath rug removed and the orange my son placed in the safe moved as well! At this point I was upset because I personally told front desk I wanted the service done on Thursday and not on Wednesday. I wouldnât understand why they went in my room and front desk staff did not communicate with housekeeping about room services not being done when a customer or guest did not want the service for cleaning. The person who entered the room had no business snooping around and going directly or straight to the safe and remove the orange. Also, they only fixed the bed and removed the bath rug and nothing else the carpet wasnât even vacuumed, and the bathroom floor was not cleaned. 08/21/2025 I was getting the room organize for cleaning when my husband ask me to smell his duffel bag. The bag had a smell of cat urine which was his last draw. House Keeping manager and HR dept came to the room wrote down the information we expressed our concerns, and they did nothing. We needed to speak to the assistant general manager Kevin McCarthy and explain the whole situation all over again. Kevin is a nice guy took all my husbandâs clothes to their dry cleanerâs and had all clothes cleaned. The room was vacuumed however they didnât wipe the counter or bedroom/nightstand was still dusty. The towel they placed there had feces stained and smelled like pure ass. I had my son and nephew go to the front desk and ask for a clean towel.08/22/2025 Because the towels were dirty with feces the day before my nephew didnât want to use any bath towels from the hotel. He asked his mom for his beach towel and while he went to get his towel an employee from housekeeping went into the room while he was naked we had the do not disturb sign and they still went in the room I feel this is terrible and I feel if my nephew was a girl they wouldâve taking the situation more serious and they didnât I really think the staff must have more training and better communication skills with all departments. Other than that the breakfast and restaurant food was good reception hour was okay, however one bartender Manny always seemed annoyed and sarcastic, pool area has too...
