We started the trip with a 4.5 hr float down the Colorado river and around horseshoe bend. I highly recommend taking the early time slot because it can get very hot down in the canyon. Also bring water and some snacks and highly recommend a battery pack. We saw some beautiful views and our tour guide was wonderful and told us so much about the history of the fam as well as the canyon.
We had about an hour break for lunch before staring on our second leg of the trip, the private tour of the slot canyons on the Navajo Reservation. This 2 hr portion was worth every penny we spent on the tour. This portion starts with a half hr 4x4 open air truck ride complete with some drifting. This was so much fun and a complete surprise that we loved. Sit in the front if you don’t like the bumps. Once we got to the canyon the views were absolutely stunning and our tour guide Erin was so knowledgeable about the history and formation of the canyons as well as the Navajo people. The photos here were unreal! You got complete solitude in the canyon with tons of pictures without a soul in the frame. This is the complete opposite of the upper and lower canyons. Erin showed us the soul of the slot canyons and the peace and beauty you can find there. Bonus she was a rockstar photographer and gave us great tips for editing photos. We then hopped back on the truck for another half hr 4x4 experience complete with traditional Navajo music.
The third and final leg of the trip was a private overlook of horseshoe bend from above which was also on Navajo land. We got to skip the crowds/lines at the main overlook and have a complete unobstructed view of the bend below. This where you want to make sure you have water. It is a long day and about this time you may feel dehydrated.
This tour was amazing and so worth it. Everyone should do this in...

We booked this tour to the Secret Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend Overlook mainly because there are no crowds and the price was reasonable. These were the key selling points for me. Some of the other tours to the Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon, so I was told, involved several tour trucks, and crowds of 50-80 people or so. This tour was for 8-9 people in one tour truck, and it also included a short drive to within 100 meters of the rim for the Horseshoe Bend overlook. Other tours involved a long walk from a crowded parking lot to the overlook. The smaller group size and exclusive access to the locations allows you to avoid the crowds and have a more personalized experience.
The Secret Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend overlook were an unforgettable adventure, and our very knowledgeable Navajo guide was a bonus, making our tour more enjoyable. The contrasting geological formations of Antelope Slot Canyon made for somr guide even helped us adjust our camera filter settings on our iPhones to enhance the contrasting colors within the slot canyon.
Avid tourists feel that visiting between 10 am and 12 pm is the incredible, beautiful photos of all the vivid colors within the canyon. Oue best time because you'll be welcomed to beams of light peaking through cracks, washing the canyon with glimmering contrasting colors.
Our next stop was a short ride to a private overlook at the rim of the Horseshoe Bend, with a breathtaking view of the Colorado River 1000 feet below. We were told to keep a safe distance from the rim and we did. Our guide helped position us in the right vantage point to capture some beautiful Kodak moments of the horseshoe bend of the Colorado River and the surrounding landscapes below.
The Horseshoe Bend Slot Canyon Tour was an adventure worth taking and I highly recommend it to everyone....
