I really love the decor of this shop. It has a very pacific Northwest vibe and it looks awesome. There are plenty of options for all types of products from herb to edibles to extracts. Prices arent the cheapest around on certain items but they are comparable to other shops in the area. They also have a happy hour and plenty sales throughout the year if you need those savings.
When I first moved to the area I really enjoyed coming here. The atmosphere was low key and there were some pretty decent budtenders who were friendly and helpful. The reason I am rating this store only 3 stars is due to my customer service experiences the last few trips ive made here. The first experience I want to note had was more to do with disorganized service structure which allowed some jerk who knew I was ahead of her to actively cut in front of me after I had been waiting 15 mins. They did however implement some stanchions to form a line for the register which might help when it gets busy(might I suggest a numbered ticket system?).
Now my real issue. There is a massive turnaround of employees here. This may have more to do with work environment and management than actual customer service skill but I digress. I can be a generally talkative person. Im not looking for your life story, but as someone who has worked similar positions I think friendly banter is important for maintaining customer client relationships. You are serving me after all. As a stoner I often come here stoned and the last thing I want is to feel like you are helping me under duress while I am stoned and acutely aware of the off putting demeanor. Unfortunately that's exactly how I felt on my most recent visit.
You arent an NYC street dealer. Pot shops in this state are a dime a dozen and your job is to not only take my money, but to make me want to return. If you disagree put the tip jars away(just to clarify, I generally tip everytime I make a purchase).
Im sure mileage may vary regarding your experience here based on time of day and who's behind the counter so dont take this as gospel. This is just my experience from the last few times ive been here. Additionally, I will probably be back because of their great deals and awesome selection.
I will end this off by saying that although this shop is visually stunning, well stocked and organized, until they hire more people with good customer service skills that last more than 2 months this Origins of Redmond wont be my first choice when in need of...
Read moreI was very disappointed as the store itself is beautiful and the staff are relatively friendly but I bought a tea bag to try out the High Teas and once I got in the car and drove away, I realized that it was 6 months expired so I turned around and went back. I was not told this when I bought it and paid full price so I brought it back and told the woman at the front desk that the tea had been expired for half a year already and she told me that the herbs inside would be fine but the potency of the actual cannabis would be degraded. So it wouldn’t be as potent... but I bought it at full price. She also said that it’s good for 3 steeps as if it should make it okay that it’s less potent. She said that I should take it home and try it and let them know how it goes but only said she would give me 15% off my next purchase, which I also was disappointed since their loyalty program offers 20% off. But the most disappointing thing was that she let me walk away with an expired edible, and since I work in the industry I know that is a big no-no and was pretty shocked. I wouldn't have made too big of a deal if it was only by a few days or a month but it had been half a year that it’s been expired and she didn’t offer anything to me at the moment to fix it besides 15% off my next purchase. I expected better customer service from a shop that is supposed to be a boutique-like experience. You should never let a customer walk away with an expired edible, especially if they don’t know it’s expired and also making them pay full price for something that is expired for so long is...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews, but this time, I have to. I’ve been a loyal customer at Origins for 5years, and in that time, they’ve redesigned their website three times - each update somehow worse than the last. The latest version? A clunky mess that won’t even let me log in to check my account/points.
Speaking of loyalty at Origins - the points reset every three months, that seems to only benefit them.
And for all their talk about a state-of-the-art online ordering system, they still can’t manage real-time inventory. More than once, I’ve ordered something that showed as available online, only to arrive at the store and find out it’s out of stock. My husband even got kicked out once for getting (rightfully) frustrated when an online order turned out to be for a completely different product. He refuses to go back since.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, my in-store experience today morning was next-level terrible. When I asked where I could leave feedback, I got nothing - just blank stares and zero help.
Origins used to be a place I loved. But between the every changing website exp, the unreliable ordering system, the loyalty program that’s anything but loyal, and the complete lack of professionalism in-store, i wont be back or wont be recommending this store to anyone i care for.
Update: Shortly after posting my review, I was contacted by Y* from Origins. While she listened to my concerns, she ultimately asked me to take the review down. I find this to be unnecessary and unethical - businesses should focus on adressing concerns, not...
