Was super excited to try SunState Yoga as I recently moved to St.Pete and based on their reviews and Instagram I thought it was, with no doubt, going to be my place for hot yoga. Unfortunately, I was super disappointed and feel as though I wasted my money. I outlined pros and cons below, which I hope give real insight into this practice.
Pros: Schedule availability and variety Parking for customers Cubbies in lobby Blocks to use at no cost People seemed to be welcoming/nice
Cons: The cold lavender towels given during Savasana are also used by students to clean their dirty mats after class. I found this highly unsanitary. Only one teaching room which is small and very hard to get a good spot in. Classes will depict all levels but please be aware that teachers do not practice with you, and only verbally instruct. If you are new/want a space in the back it is recommended that you show up early. (This really wouldn't be needed if they had teachers guiding classes that are labeled intro. Maybe I am picky here, but I have been to many studios and this is the first time having this experience). Personally, I did not like how bright the room was and how close all the of us were to each other. We showed up early for our first class and we were still in the front. We checked in when we arrived and no kind of introduction or overview was given on what to expect at their practice.
Overall, seems like a group of good people but is not a place that I would recommend to my friends as I do not feel it meets my standards. I recommend asking if you can pay for one class and then sign up for the intro special to ensure you enjoy the...

When I first started at Sunstate Yoga, I wasnât a yogiâI was more of a sports-athlete, gym-goer who needed to focus on recovery and stretching. A friend recommended this studio to me, and I quickly saw whyâitâs truly something special!
From day one, the studio felt warm, welcoming, and completely judgment-free. The teachers are some of the nicest, chillest, and most knowledgeable people youâll meet, and the community is just as incredible. While all of the teachers are amazing, Iâve found myself gravitating toward Andrew and Ashleyâs classesâtheir energy, guidance, and instruction always leave me feeling both challenged and refreshed.
What sets Sunstate apart is that they donât just focus on traditional yogaâthey offer a variety of classes with different focuses, including deep stretch and longer hold poses (aka: yoga for athletes), which is where I started. Since joining, Iâve broadened my yoga horizons, trying all of the different classes they offerâand Iâve thoroughly enjoyed each one.
But Sunstate Yoga is so much more than just a yoga studio. They host events, workshops, local business collaborations, and even community groups like book club, creating a space that brings people together beyond the mat.
If youâre looking to try yoga for the first time or find a new yoga home, this is the place for you. And chances are, you wonât just find a great yoga studioâyouâll find a community and lifelong...
Read moreI absolutely love Sunstate Yoga! Bryceâs class was everything I was looking forâso welcoming and grounding. I wasnât sure what to expect from âYoga for Athletes,â since I really wanted more of a yin-style wind down, but Bryce captured exactly that and more. His class worked deep into the muscles at a slow, intentional pace, helping release so much built-up stress.
I also had the chance to take a class with Carrington, and she was incredible at keeping me present in the moment instead of escaping into my mind. Her guidance really helped me stay connected throughout the flow, and her vibe is just amazingâshe radiates comfort and makes the whole room feel at ease.
Kateâs class, though, has been my absolute favorite. She has a gift for helping the body release tension and guiding you into exactly what you need. The way she talked us through the class kept me grounded, and her assists came at the perfect momentsâjust enough to take off any extra weight I was holding.
Overall, each class has been such a beautiful experience, and every teacher Iâve practiced with brings something unique...
