UPDATE: I have been visiting this salon since 2016 when Kristy (owner) had one shop in North Park and worked with one other person on some days. I was a big fan, and it was nice to have the second location for more options.
I first found out about skin habit when I searched for salons that carried products that I used. I spoke to Kristy (owner) at length about the products and her vision on why she carried what she did. This was part of the reason that I was so loyal. So, when I made the decision to go fully “clean” with my products, I was excited to get her take and understand my options with the services at the salon. I called the salon and asked to speak with Kristy. I was told she was on vacation. I asked to have her call me when she returned. No call. I reached out again a few weeks later and a manager called me back. I asked to speak to Kristy as she is who I had had these conversations with over the years. Nothing. I tried one more time, and was told she was an owner and essentially had better things to do. I was shocked. This is the owner of a small business, who was frequenting locations the last time I was in. In fact, she did my service the last time I was in. Before scheduling, I wanted her take. This really bothered me because I really thought this business, and Kristy were different. I was mistaken. The services are still good, I’m sure. Though, the customer service is seriously lacking if customers are only important when they are paying. I am a small business owner myself and I know the value that my customers bring. As a long time customer, I simply wanted to have a conversation because I respected the owner and wanted to make a good decision for me. I truly hope that two managers made poor decisions, but given that I called two or three times, I’m guessing it is the culture. I will not be returning or referring this salon again. I hesitated sharing this, but ultimately I felt it was important.
2022: I had my first Dermaplane appointment with Angelina and I couldn’t be happier. Angelina was very sweet and super helpful. It was a great experience all around and I will definitely be back.

Read moreThis is my second time getting the 80 min glow & brightness facial & i’m so happy with my experience. The staff is friendly and, Schade, my esthetician, was great about keeping me in the loop with each step. i have 10+ year old acne scarring and some discoloration; while i don’t expect to see much change in the scarring (pitted, not raised), my skin looks noticeably brighter and moisturized for weeks after. My friend even complimented me over a video call! I think they market their services as “no frills,” but this doesn’t mean lacking luxury! i feel very pampered after my services here and the mini massage during my jelly mask was divine! i also appreciate that while they do sell products in-store, they don’t push them. the first time i went, i purchased a product and this time i left without anything (i had something similar to what the recommended). they keep the product recommendations on file so if you like a sample or want to try a rec next time, it’s all there for you. my only tip is, if you’re tall like me (5’10) your feet might touch the wall because of how the rooms are set up. not a big deal for me! overall, i’ve loved my experience AND results. this is my go-to spot for...

I called a few days before to ask some questions about the services and they were happy to help with my questions. I booked that same day online because they were so informative. When I got to my appointment they greeted me and offered me water while I waited. Angelina did the Glow & Brightness facial for me and started off by asking my skincare routine and what products I use. During the facial she talked me through what she was doing and made sure to ask me how I was feeling during extractions and the red light therapy to ensure my comfort. At the end they had a tray with my name and products that were recommended based on our conversation earlier. I really appreciated this because I didn’t feel pressured to buy anything since, she was only recommending me things I said I didn’t currently use but would be open to trying.
